If government school would only do its job, education of its victims would not fall to me. But, an obligation I will not shirk.

In Matthew 19:6 we find this: "What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." ... And since our sort is known as ‘man the wise’ (Homo sapiens) the knowledge of the above this trinity comes before being considered knowledgeable. There is no way to separate the three without becoming a Democrat.

2. On February 26, 1848, Marx and Engels publish the Communist Manifesto. “Momentous” hardly covers the occasion.
"Marxism today governs over one third of mankind. If it could be shown that the originators and perpetrators of this movement were indeed behind-closeddoors devil-worshipers, consciously exploiting Satanic powers, would not such a startling realization require action?"
Wurmbrand

True, the ideas were neither theirs nor new,…”A half-century before Karl Marx published the Communist Manifesto, there was Gracchus Babeuf’s Plebeian Manifesto, which was later renamed the Manifesto of the Equals. Babeuf’s early (1796) work has been described as socialist, anarchist, and communist, and has had an enormous impact.

He wrote: “The French Revolution was nothing but a precursor of another revolution, on which will be bigger, more solemn, and which will be the last…We reach for something more sublime and more just: the common good or the community of goods! Nor more individual property in land: the land belongs to no one. We demand, we want, the common enjoyment of the fruits of the land: the fruits belong to all.” Here, then, are the major themes of socialist theory. It takes very little interpolation to find that opponents profit at the expense of the environment, and conditions of inequality in society.” (Robert Sirico)

Simpletons have fallen for this fantasy even prior to this, as it is so much easier than working to fulfill the dream.

For Babeuf, and Marx, and for Progressives, socialism would distribute prosperity across the entire population, as it would “[have] us eat four good meals a day, [dress} us most elegantly, and also [provide] those of us who are fathers of families with charming houses worth a thousand louis each.”

Proven by history: Mao…greatest mass murderer in the history of mankind. Stalin was number two on the hit parade, and Hitler, number three.

And let’s include the Democrats.

And, coincidently, all had the word ‘socialist’ associated with them.

Here’s another ‘trinity’ firmly set in the minds of those not programmed to earn: gambling, lotteries,….and government entitlements.

Why not confiscate the fruits of earner's efforts.......After all, they have been told this slander about earners: they didn't earn their success.

We'll investigate the subject, and how it affects every life, in this thread.

3. While the real ‘big boom’ in human history was the formation of monotheism, almost as significant was the creation of the United States, a belief in each individual and the ability of mankind to govern itself for the benefit of all. But the graph is not a perpetual upward line since the nation's creation, and here we find the effect of socialism, Marxism, demands for obedience, represented in the history of taxation.

4.As is my wont, I give all props to the Founders in guiding the nation. As is the case of taxation. “…we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude. …And the fore horse of this frightful team is public debt. Taxation follows that, and in its train wretchedness and oppression.”
Thomas Jefferson, June 12, 1816 Letter to Samuel Kercheval

5.James Madison, as well saw the dangers in taxation: “A just security to property is not afforded by that government, under which unequal taxes oppress one species of property and reward another species: where arbitrary taxes invade the domestic sanctuaries of the rich, and excessive taxes grind the faces of the poor; where the keenness and competitions of want are deemed an insufficient spur to labor, and taxes are again applied, by an unfeeling policy, as another spur; in violation of that sacred property, which Heaven, in decreeing man to earn his bread by the sweat of his brow, kindly reserved to him, in the small repose that could be spared from the supply of his necessities.”
Property: James Madison, Property

For Marxists/socialists/Progressives/Democrats…..the value of taxation advanced their power while nudging earners from wealth back into feudalism and slavery.

In this thread, how Marxist control of taxation took a bite out of liberty.

6. Through the early 20th century, taxes tended to be low. And higher taxes designed to pay war debts would be paid down quickly and temporary taxes eliminated.

Hylton vs United States, 1796...on the constitutionality of a federal carriage tax. " United States Supreme Court case in which the Court held that a tax on carriages did not violate the Article I, Section 2, Clause 3 respectively the Article I, Clause 9 requirement for the apportioning of direct taxes. It found the carriage tax was an "excise" instead of a "direct tax" requiring apportionment among the states by population".
Hylton v. United States - Wikipedia

While earlier decision (Ware v. Hylton) had nullified a state statute, in this case the court refused to nullify a federal statute, in effect giving Congress greater discretion in levying taxes than the ratifiers of the Constitution had intended.

So much for federalism.

As is usual with government policy, taxes crept up over time.

7.The Civil War produced the first tax on personal income: the Revenue Act of 1861. Interestingly, it was called an ‘indirect’ tax, defined as taxing an ‘event:’ a tax on the event of receiving income….therefore it didn’t have to be ‘apportioned,’ merely imposed uniformly throughout all areas “not in rebellion.”

The tax was moderately progressive, 3% on all income over $800. This meant that most workers didn’t have to pay any tax.
Revenue Act of 1861 - Wikipedia

The following year, due to a greater need, Congress increased both the rates and the progressivity. The exemption was lowered to $600 @ 3%, and a new 5% on income over $10,000. This, then was the first “progressive,” not flat tax. The law also imposed a duty on paymasters to deduct and withhold the income tax, and to send the withheld tax to the Commissioner of Internal Revenue.
Revenue Act of 1862 - Wikipedia

After the war exemptions were increased, and rates lowered, and in 1872, the tax was abolished.

On February 26, 1848, Marx and Engels published the Communist Manifesto.

Don't miss the connection.

But, having had a taste of taking and using free money, politicians passed more than 60 bills designed to reinstate the income tax over the next 20 years.
David G. Davies, “United States Taxes and Tax Policy,” p. 22.

Jot this down:
My posts are always linked, sourced and documented......and always 100% true, correct and accurate.

I'm never wrong. Watch me prove it: There’s a greater chance of the Pope joining a boy band than of your posting anything worth reading.

Please give me the Executive Summay version of WTF your thread is about.
I'm old and lose focus after a few sentences.
I think you're against the income tax, but don't say what taxes you support, VAT, Sales Tax, wealth?
We need $4T-$5T to pay the bills.

My suggestion is to do another Grace Commission, but don't ignore their recommendations this time.

Marxism -> Taxation as the road to slavery.

I'm not opposed to taxation.

I am opposed to excessive taxation as a disguise for paving the way to socialism.

8. Although based on a rejection of big government, the desire for lower taxes can be found in Judeo-Christian tradition, the tradition at the heart of the creation of the United States.

Who is to decide what is fair, and what is too much? Some religions suggest tithing, from the Old Testament, and government demands taxes.

Joseph gathered very much grain: It seems it was customary for Pharaoh to take 10% of the grain in Egypt as a tax. Essentially, Joseph doubled the taxes over the next seven years (Genesis 41:34 mentions one-fifth, that is, 20%).

That 20% figure appears again in the relationship of colonists to North America, and the English crown "....colonists were free to retain all the profits and fruits of their labor save for the crown's 20 percent share of any gold and silver discovered." "Freedom Just Around the Corner: A New American History: 1585-1828," by Walter A. McDougall, p.33

What if you find that based on Federal taxes, state taxes, local taxes, sales tax, parking fees, license fees, speed cameras, hidden taxes of all sorts......
....and the insidious tax, inflation.....

....amounted to more than half your income at least?

You must know that 'succinct' is not in my vocabulary....or nature.

I actually have two more posts planned for this essay.....er, thread.

OK, OK....I'll make it one more.

9. The publication of Marx’s opus in 1848 was neither the start nor the end of the movement designed to gain power by taking from earners and spreading the money to others for their votes.

Socialist, Populist, and Progressive movements
paralleled this move, and this desire based on “taxing the rich.” In 1894, the Democrat-controlled Congress passed a bill that included a flat income tax…but part included taxes on income from real estate and personal property, and this triggered a court challenge as a direct tax infracting the Constitution’s apportionment rule,…

Pollock v. Farmers' Loan & Trust Company, 157 U.S. 429 (1895), aff'd on reh'g, 158 U.S. 601 (1895), with a ruling of 5–4, was a landmark case in which the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that the unapportioned income taxes on interest, dividends and rents imposed by the Income Tax Act of 1894 were, in effect, direct taxes, and were unconstitutional because they violated the provision that direct taxes be apportioned.

Interesting decision, since the same principles had been upheld vis-à-vis the 1861 Revenue Act…. Springer v. United States, 102 U.S. 586 (1881),[1] was a case in which the United States Supreme Court upheld the Federal income tax imposed under the Revenue Act of 1864.

The Progressives were horrified!

They had been focused on forcing the “money class” to pay “in proportion to their ability to pay…’ which, essentially was the first half of “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.” From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs - Wikipediao

Where have you seen that phrase before?

The Progressives launched a campaign designed to reverse this decision, and that culminated with the ratification of the 16th Amendment, in 1913.

OK, thanks for the Executive Summary.

In addition to the Federal Tax burden, we also have State taxes, Local Taxes, Real Estate Taxes, School Taxes, Sales Tax, gas tax, plus all the hidden taxes. We pay more than 50% of our income in taxes.

As usual you are correct. The tax & spend democrats want to waste money on social programs, and the Republican AHs want to waste money on defense and tax cuts for the wealthy, they spend like democrats, but "borrow" with the "big lie" being that cutting taxes grows the economy at 5%. (the economy grows at ~2%)

"Only little people pay taxes" according to Leona Helmsley, remember?

We need another Grace Commission to get the Federal Budget back to reality and balance. I'm fine deleting the Department of Education and any other wasteful Federal Department that is unconstitutional according to the division & separation of powers.

The tax I like is a Remittance Tax on money sent out of the US to pay for DHS & ICE.

I'm not shedding any tears for the top 1% or top 10% earners they did better than the rest of us over the last several decades.

Wasting Tax money on social programs actually helps out society a lot, much more useful then letting that money remain in the hands of the wealthy who will be greedy and refuse to share. Taxes are actually a very good thing.

Nothing will help as long as pols can buy votes and build loop-holes in bills for 'donations,'

People largely bring high taxation upon themselves by irresponsible lifestyle, behavior, etc.
