DeSantis agrees to election changes for storm-battered area

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis used his emergency powers on Thursday to waive state election laws for counties hard hit by Hurricane Ian that are grappling with widespread damages and disruptions.

DeSantis agreed to set aside state laws so election officials in Charlotte, Lee and Sarasota — all of which are Republican strongholds — can consolidate polling places, extend early voting days and make it easier to send mail in ballots to voters to an address that is not listed in voting records.

Apparently, in Repub strongholds it's perfectly acceptable to waive voter rules that Repubs (and DeSantis) have claimed heighten the potential for voter fraud. What's striking is the audacity of doing this sort of thing right out in the open. But then why wouldn't he? He knows there will be no accountability for hyper partisanship among his constituents. They rather like duplicity.

I don't think you'd understand the difference in circumstances, even if the most patient person in the world sat down and explained it to you.

Lee County and the adjacent areas all had widespread destruction from a recent hurricane that came through under Biden's watch.

This is an emergency situation, not business as usual.
Yes, it is an unusual situation. So was voting during a pandemic when Repubs lost their shyte because accommodations were made to make voting easier.

People's houses weren't destroyed during the pandemic, no one was barred from leaving their homes.

It wasn't an extreme situation at all.

Further, even if it was, the pandemic is over now according to Sleepy Joe himself. No need to continue the special accommodations, even if you assume there were at the time.

Hurricane stricken areas have voting made easier?
If he didnt do that, your ass would be saying he was trying to suppress the vote

I have no problem with what he did per se. The point being the obvious hypocrisy of doing it while passing restrictive voter laws statewide.
Would he have done what he did for Dem strongholds? Of course not.

Oh okay. It’s an emergency so let’s all just completely ignore the constitution.

So you Moon Bats are so afraid of Republican voters that you want to suppress accommodations after a major disaster.

My god you people are assholes!

Those were the hardest hit counties. That is where the eye came on shore and there was significant destruction. The Democrat areas, like Orange County, did not suffer much. Like Disney in Orange County opened back up a day after the hurricane.

No matter how much we Americans think you little Moon Bat are shitheads you always seem to be able to outdo yourself on being turds.

DeSantis is way ahead of that Democrat piece of shit by double digits. Like 15 points in the lead and I doubt if any of that polling was done in the hurricane devastated areas.

So you are calling him a hypocrite for something that hasnt even happened?

Did he deny Dem stronghold counties a request for this? Did they even ask?
