So the debate is now on as to when and how we should reopen public schools. Joe Biden’s Roadmap to Reopening Schools Safely | Joe Biden for President: Official Campaign Website This link is obviously from a pro Biden website and full of campaign rhetoric with no real evidence to back any of its claims except the " Orange man bad " mantra which really has no place in what is supposed to be a forward looking stance to regain what we have come to describe as " Normalcy".
The idea that any kind of precautions taken in a mass regathering of people be it school or any other place that has since been declared unholy due to the implications of the pandemic can have any real or lasting effect on the rate of exposure is nonsense in the extreme. The simple concept of doubling ( as in one person exposes two who expose two others who go on each to expose four and then eight .......well you get the picture and that's assuming we start with two. Truth is we most likely start with a dozen ) completely defeats any plan to use " caution " and it is mathematically evident that the very same results will occur whether you reopen with no precautions or reopen with full " iron man suits " for each kid. You cannot defeat the rule of simple increase; we as humans simply do not possess the ability to isolate on a microscopic scale...we would literally have to be small enough to see an individual virus coming our way and step aside. Even the n-95 masks are a joke because they are so flow restrictive as to create a vacuum zone above the mask's edge on the nose which further increases the likelihood of ingesting air that has virus population in it.
More than anything else the kids have fallen prey to political expediency. Nobody wants to take the chance of making the wrong decision and having to be the hapless victim of the continuous pin the tail on the donkey politics that we have lived through for the past four years. There is only one decision to make frankly. Reopen and if you do reopen then..... just reopen.....never mind the stupid and meaningless precautions that are totally doomed insofar as making even a miniscule dent in the process of multiple exposure. You either man up and face the inevitable or you cower forever trying to dodge what cannot actually be dodged and eventually suffer the very same fate you were afraid of in the first place only with a lot more self inflicted pain for no good reason at all. Or....don't reopen. That is also a real choice but it is not going to make us safer if that's why they are stalling on it.
