Zone1 The Ten Commandments don't apply to us.

You may not remember....but you really don't hear anyone else saying it. I'm the ONLY one teaching this to anyone because of my intensive studies of language and culture. And it requires intensive studies of both to know this.

Christian Religion is kinda unique. It requires a knowledge of ALL the sciences as well as language arts to really understand the scriptures. That blend of both is called Hermeneutics.

And even though we have a ton of preachers....not many actually go through the exercise of studying ALL the sciences when studying scriptures. And then many get too literal and miss out on the literary arts when teaching scriptures.

Just not a lot of people who speak plainly anymore who can explain some really complicated to study subjects....explained 5,000, almost 6,000 years ago.

Yeah....so do I...
But just because the 5th commandment wasn't referencing your parents didn't mean that children couldn't or shouldn't obey them.
Far from it.....

You, as a child, disobeyed and then you would get stoned by the entire town. Your parents throwing the first rock. This was not just a momentary lapse in judgement like most children have...that would get the "rod of correction" . LOL.
But an unrepentant and unruly child? Oh yeah....the entire town might just enjoy it too much...and just because you were older than 13 meant nothing (legal majority in Jewish culture). Your parents could bring charges at any age.
Disobeying and even assaulting parents was common in the land at that time, as well as the other sins, and was as serious in God's mind as any other. Obedience to the commandments would set Israel apart and above all other nations.

It is noteworthy that Jesus supported the death penalty for those who dishonored parents.

ALL the Law (Old and New Testament) and all the regulations and ordinances of the New Covenant hang off these two commandments.

Meaning the Laws are no longer codified to meet the new, differing standards and situations around the world....

You can now eat pork and shrimp....and cheeseburgers.
There's still something 'distasteful' about eating pork, and I believe unhealthful. Hog farms are certainly bad for the environment.

Jews still keep those laws, which were intended to keep Israel separate from the Gentile peoples around them.

The central message of Islam is the worship of one God alone without partners, intermediaries, or equals. God alone created the universe, provides for all creation, and deserves complete devotion and worship. This belief, is considered the foundation of faith and the most important of all comandments.
Is that what the obelisks in Mecca

are devoted to?

Minoan law was for Minoans. Inca law was for Incans. Israelite law was for Israelites.

That's how laws work. They have limited jurisdictions. And limited lifespans.

Well you don't have to eat those things....there's no law that says you must eat them either. Eat what you want.
(And the high cholesterol level in shrimp or other shellfish ain't so good for you either)

The Messianic Jews tend to follow the dietary guidelines as well as certain other Christian Groups. I'm not here to judge....
If they feel it's necessary....more power to them. Nobody answers to me....not even my son.

However the Baptist BBQ cook-off requires the pork products. (Beef ribs are verboten)

Then there's the low country boils...
(Crawfish)

It's just a habit with me. I got used to not eating those things. Whether they would hurt my health today can't really be known. Anyway, I'm too old to worry about it.

would there ever be laws in themselves from the heavens and for only a particular group placed above others -

monotheism from antiquity meaning is equality for all who reside in the everlasting - the free spirit having accomplished the necessary requisite for their admission.
