The Strange Death of Aunt June

My daughter-in-law's aunt passed. Even though she was quite energetic and in good health, generally, she was 96 years old.

Here it is, Monday and family started wondering why Aunt June hadn't called anyone to wish them a Happy Thanksgiving. Was she mad? Upset that she wasn't invited anywhere. It's not that she wasn't wanted. Everyone was too busy to get her and take her home. She understood. Being unable to reach her, her son had the police make a welfare check. He really didn't have time to drive 30 miles. Aunt June had passed away Thanksgiving Day. Peacefully. It looked she laid down to take a nap. 4 days later, someone thought to wonder what happened to Aunt June.

I never met the woman. She was reportedly a kindly soul ready to help someone in need. There's a lesson in here someplace.

Godspeed Aunt June, you deserved better.
