If it's not already too late, read the linked article with the following distinction in mind: The Pope has said that the Church should welcome sexual irregulars - as long as they remain celibate, and even if they are in legally recognized relationships. But to be clear (which the Pope often declines to do), irregular sexual acts (fellatio and buggery) REMAIN MORALLY PROHIBITED.

Homosexuality - the sexual attraction to people of the same sex - is nothing more than a tendency and is morally neutral. It is homosexual acts that are morally prohibited. Just as the desire of a married man to copulate with women who are not his wife is a tendency that is morally neutral, as long as it does not devolve into lust or adultery.

So the writer of the linked piece either ignorantly or maliciously ignores this distinction, even giving the impression that the Pope sanctions homosexual buggery, etc., if it is in a committed relationship. There is no contradiction between "welcoming [celibate] sexual irregulars" and condemning - or even legally sanctioning the acts with which homosexuals are usually associated.

I'm no fan of the current Pope.

ROFLMAO

More HYPOCRISY and LIES from the religion that hires pedophiles by the millions, and then protects them from the law. A bomb should've been dropped on the Vatican City decades ago!!

Get rid of all religions on this planet, and we've gotten rid of 70% of the pure evil that infests it.

Of course, you're not a fan of the pope, in the US we have democracy.

I would bet there are just as many Christians that are pedophiles that are in the RC.

Actually, Penelope, my point is different. I have no problem with an "authoritarian" Pope. In fact, he should be such. The Church's teachings are, and must be, based on the Scriptures and sacred tradition.

Compare religions that tailor their "theology" to popular opinion...the U.S. Episcopal church being Exhibit A. One might as well watch cartoons on Sunday morning.

This Pope tries to combine his own socialist revolutionary political philosophy with Church teaching, and often pushes things that are simply his political opinion or desire, rather than sound theological principles...Open borders being one example.

Yesterday the vatican reported that the Pope is dying. What are they trying to distract us from with that bit of news.

They say, if you can believe anything these days, that when he was in hospital last time that they discovered cancer. I wonder did he take the jibby jab.

Fellatio is prohibited by the Catholic church? No wonder you kids are so cranky. No blowjobs at the risk of eternal damnation.

A LGBTQI+ Catholic organization has been trying to protest the Catholic Church.
