Let me just say a few words," Sanders began. "Sometimes, when we're inside the beltway, we lose track of reality and where the American people are."

"So let me repeat. The American people are very clear about what they want their government to do," he said, listing progressive priorities like lowering prescription drug costs, expanding Medicare to cover vision, hearing and dental health, taxing the rich, and addressing climate change.

The surveys, conducted by YouGov, found that 53 percent of those polled in West Virginia think Democrats should scrap the reconciliation package because the investments may lead to higher middle-class taxes, interest rates and inflation.

Just 32 percent of West Virginians said Congress should pass the spending bill because it includes important investments in America's future that are paid for by taxing the wealthy, while 16 percent said they were not sure.

In Arizona, 47 percent of respondents said Congress should throw out the reconciliation package because of concerns over higher middle-class taxes, interest rates and inflation, while 37 percent said the bill should move forward because it contains important investments that are funded by taxes on the rich.

Sixteen percent said they remained unsure.

Bernie sure has made a LOT of money from this...... ummmmm, ........"Socialism" of his.

I think if you were to survey the American people, you would find an overwhelming percentage wished THEY could make so much for doing so little.
Since no socialism system exist in the US then Bernie has no choice but to live like a capitalist.

Here's an idea, if this legislation is really THAT important. . . how about the president just skip this "COP26 climate crisis conference?" Most thinking folks know that the "climate crisis," is just an excuse for these globalist elites to foist another tax, and pick winners and losers anyways, so if they really did care more about this nation, then instituting more levels of bureaucracy and control and wanted to help THIS nation is NOT the way to do it. Have the president stay home and address the problems of this nation. . . instead of going to some bullshit global fascist scam they have already decided to perpetrate on all of us.

Dial it in, tell them all to pound sand in Scotland, and focus on solving problems in D.C.

This is the biggest hypocritical tact, and line of cock and bull to come down the pike in a while.

"Democrats had hoped to pass both the Build Back Better bill and the $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill this week before President Biden travels to Glasgow, Scotland on Thursday for the COP26 climate crisis conference, an outcome that now appears unlikely."

Gee, I wonder why?

That bullshit conference is all about the interests of global corporate stakeholders, NGO's, and the "sustainable," paradigm. It is about technocracy, and complete control of the world's population. . . which means an end to small farms and small business, and a complete top down control of all energy and resources by global fascism, and global corporations.

What a load of crap.

I will say one thing, at least Sanders is honest sometimes.

"Let me just say a few words," Sanders began. "Sometimes, when we're inside the beltway, we lose track of reality and where the American people are."

What usefulness did he ever have?
Well. . . he exposed to some progressives what a crook and a thief Hillary and the DNC are. .. :heehee:

DNC Lawyers Argue Primary Rigging Is Protected by the First Amendment

The defense counsel for the DNC appeared to argue that if the Democratic Party did cheat Sanders in the 2016 Presidential primary race, then it was protected under the first amendment.

Maybe it's time to launch routine Referenda to sample the American People at large.

Give 'em the Pros and Cons on any given issue in a series of bullet points, of no more than a single page.

Give 'em the ability to read further, but keep the Referendum Issue Summary to a single page.

Then let the American People vote, electronically, from their home computers and phones and tablets.

The tallies might be non-binding in some cases and binding in others.

Lots of details to work-out but if Bernie wants to empower the Average American he can start there.

THEN we will see whether "America" wants some of the stuff he's peddling.

Macro-level vote-tallies for partisan elections do NOT have the 'granularity' needed to offset claims of a "mandate" by some of these political hacks.
