It was the 1950's when the book "Worlds in Collision" was published and became the best seller for several years.

The effects of the content of the book were increasing up to the point that many scientists and even universities were very interested in knowing more about the claims made by its author Immanuel Velikovski.

It was the birth of a new approach to understand ancient history.

But, the narration implied the removal of the conventional physics, history and even challenged some religious beliefs of those years.

Then, scientists, historians, some religious leaders, many of them became enemies of Velikovski and they worked hard to sink his theories until they become forgotten.

However, when the storm was over and the rest managed to close his publications, a rare scenario did occur.

Suddenly "new scientific theories" appeared, all of them using the same principles found in Worlds in Collision, but instead of thousands of years ago as claimed in that book, the new theories claimed "millions of years ago".

No matter what the new theories claim today with their millions of years of life on earth. The book Worlds in Collision still is the pioneer because explains without doubt the influence of planets and bodies from the cosmos getting near or hitting earth and changing the history of our planet.

Catastrophe is an old thought which caused the extinction and appearance of species, but no one "prove it" up to the 1950's, because neither archeology or common understanding in those years ever thought the possibility of planets and comets causing it.

Today, today you take for granted that comets, asteroids and more have changed the history of humanity, but such was not the belief in the 1950's. In those years the craters of the moon were caused "solely" by volcanic eruptions, in those years our solar system was taught to have been the same without changes of any kind for millions of years. In those years... you got the idea....

The greatest pioneer of modern archeology and history, he has been forgotten not because he was on error but because the erudite of those times weren't able to accept that their theories and knowledge were simply dead wrong.

Each new discovery in disguised form is getting more close to the narrations of Velikovski. Now a new catastrophe caused by a comet or a celestial body has been calculated at 13,000 years ago.

Asteroid or comet hit Earth 13,000 years ago and set much of North America on FIRE, boffins claim

This is what Worlds in Collision book is about, another historical catastrophe which happened four thousand years ago, and caused not only the "biblical plagues of Egypt" but floods, obscurity, plagues in other parts of the planet, according to records obtained from China, India, Greece, Arabia.

Are you sure it isn't astronomy rather than archaeology? Pretty tough even for a Russian to sell a theory that the planet Venus was ejected from the planet Jupiter around fifteen hundred B.C.

Unfortunately for you, the focus in the topic is the history side on earth.

Velikovski solely wrote what the ancient people saw from their point of view. It can be that planet Venus hit Jupiter first and expelled by the impact came in direction to earth.

However, what several witness of those ancient cultures mentioned is Venus (in its different names used by each location) to identify the celestial body which caused such atrocities when was near our planet.

Those ancient people have no reason to invent stories, on the contrary, look at the Mayas, they were so afraid that they observed following Venus until it had its own orbit around the Sun, and from there they continued watching that planet just in case Venus decided to come back again. They even made a calendar based on Venus orbit.

You try to diminish Velikoski because he was Russian, so for you if the author is not American then he can't be right, hmm?

What the ancient people saw? It sounds like the "ancient aliens" theory today. It's as far from archaeology as you can get.

You see, this guy Velikovski used the biblical records, the Egyptian writings in columns by pharaohs and papyrus by writers in those times, also Arabian legends and old songs, same with Hindu records. Chinese records and even Greece records. Also Mayan records written by Spaniards in their Chronicles.

In a second book of his, no doubt he became a winner when he showed with pictures the treasures and more that a pharaoh took when he looted the first Temple in Judah.

He discovered a few centuries error between the accepted ancient chronology by historians against the new chronology he found in base of his discoveries. This is the part which caused for historians grouping and fighting against him until turn him down.

Just look and enjoy the pharaoh Thutmose III ordering to write in a pillar, which today is showing the looting treasure of the Israelite Temple. The book is Ages in Chaos.

In this last picture, look how doors were made, there weren't hinges but the doors had to extensions or protrusions at one side to be inserted on a top hole first and let it fall onto a hole on the floor. This last picture shows three of those doors.

He put numbers to identify the vessels, doors, gold chains, etc which are described in the narration of the book.

This kind of evidence is what made crazy to historians, they never thought they were wrong with their chronology, for this reason they didn't find such an Egyptian evidence backing up the biblical records.
