Fox News has done a lot of snarky coverage of the Occupy Wall Street protests. But when protester Jesse LeGreca responded to Fox News' offer to get his message "out there" and with "fair coverage," he let forth with some plain talk that included frank thoughts about Fox News that somehow never made it on the air. But in this age of YouTube, Fox could not make it go away by simply not airing it. The New York Observer got it from Occupy Wall Street's media team and we got it, too, thanks to a friendly email.

Elizabeth Warren debate: 'Wall St. broke this country’
10/5/11 - Massachusetts Democrat Elizabeth Warren came out swinging against the financial industry in her first U.S. Senate primary debate, arguing that “the people on Wall Street broke this country.”
In a debate that focused on criticism of those not in the room — notably Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) and Wall Street honchos — Warren drew applause when she took on investment firms and banks. “The people on Wall Street broke this country, and they did it one lousy mortgage at a time. It happened more than three years ago, and there has been no real accountability, and there has been no real effort to fix it. That’s why I want to run for the United States Senate,” she said, according to The New York Times.

A former special assistant to Timothy Geithner for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau that President Barack Obama has championed, Warren is contesting the seat currently held by Brown. Brown voted for the Dodd-Frank financial regulatory bill that created the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and as a Republican who crossed the aisle, he was a crucial vote in ensuring its passage. But that did not stop Warren from going on the offensive, managing to get in a jab at both Wall Street and the state’s junior senator.

“Forbes magazine named Scott Brown Wall Street’s favorite senator. I was thinking, ‘That’s probably not an award that I’m going to get,’” said Warren, according to the Boston Herald. She had other cheeky moments as well — asked how she paid for her schooling, Warren replied, “I kept my clothes on. I borrowed money,” a jab at Brown, who once posed nude for Cosmopolitan magazine in the 1980s to help pay his tuition. Warren also said that she had encouraged one of her children to join the military. “This isn’t a hard question for me,” said Warren, who noted that her brothers had served in the military.

The debate featured five other candidates: Tom Conroy, a state representative; Marisa DeFranco, an immigration lawyer; Alan Khazei, founder of a service organization; Bob Massie, a Democratic activist; and Herb Robinson, a software engineer. The Democratic hopefuls didn’t attack each other, except for one moment when Massie criticized Warren over her refusal to decline money from political action committees and lobbyists.

Hacker Group Anonymous Threatens to Attack Stock Exchange
October 04, 2011 | The FBI is investigating threats purportedly from the hacking collective that calls itself Anonymous to bring down the New York Stock Exchange on Monday by hacking into its computer system.
Members of the notorious hacker group appear to be threatening to bring the Occupy Wall Street protests in New York to a dangerous new level, sounding a call to “declare war on the New York Stock Exchange" on Monday by “erasing" it from the Internet. “The FBI is aware of these schemes and threats and is looking into the matter,” FBI spokesman Tim Flannelly told FoxNews.com. The hackers say they plan to launch a DDoS (or distributed denial of service) attack on the NYSE’s computer systems -- the same type of computer attack that brought down numerous websites last Spring, making them inaccessible.

Anonymous has also separately declared the Stock Exchange announcement a hoax, and it remains unclear whether this is an official effort by Anonymous, a group of rogue hackers or someone else entirely. Either way, the FBI is investigating. “It is a crime to show the intent to carry out a hack when you are in possession of software or computer applications to do so and we take it seriously,” FBI spokesman Flannelly said. In one of the videos, which was addressed to the media, a narrator states, “We can no longer stay silent as the population is being exploited and forced to make sacrifices in the name of profit. We will show the world that we are true to our word. On October 10, NYSE shall be erased from the Internet ... expect a day that will never, ever, be forgotten.”

In a video addressed to the public, the narrator states, “We are the 99 percent. You have complained that something needs to be done. You now have an opportunity to make a difference. Join the protests. Organize your own. Watch online. Be a part of the movement.” A digital flier has circulated online with the banner “Operation Invade Wall Street: This is not an occupation. This is an invasion,” and instructions how to participate in “three simple steps.” It provides a link to download a program to participate as well as the URL for the Stock Exchange (NYSE, New York Stock Exchange) and the date and time, October 10th at 3:30 p.m., to attack. Would-be participants are also urged to “spread the F----- word.”

Still, other Anonymous representatives denied the plans. A second letter has been posted online, also with Anonymous on the masthead, that references rumors of the planned attack and disclaims the group’s association: “We have taken notice to a planned attack which has been named #InvadeWallStreet ...We strongly advise against this action and everything it entails to,” the letter says. “We do not want history to repeat itself, and are sincerely worried,” the letter adds, referencing past attacks on Visa, Paypal, and Mastercard after they refused to accept transactions for payment to WikiLeaks. Some have taken to Twitter, claiming the DDoS threat is a hoax, or even a setup. “Smells like a trap! Don't participate,” said one tweet with the hashtag #invadewallstreet. “HOAX: #invadewallstreet is not a valid OP. Beware of provocateurs!!!” said another posting.

Yup.

A good example of one of the thinking protestors that so seldom make the MSM nightly news.

I saw this yesterday. Good interview. I love how he immediately caught the reporter's baited question and side stepped it and how he didn't get worked up by the off camera person trying to provoke him by tossing out the term "comrade". I wonder if it was a Foxnews employee?

It is a socialist organized and backed movement, period. Arrest everyone of them and hire the legal unemployed to guard them. There two problems solved.
