These last few years have proven that agencies such as the FBI are not in any way related to what the FBI was in earlier times.

This claim fell apart in short order after it was revealed that Ford had lived for a year in Honolulu, a city effectively unreachable except by air, had vacationed in Tahiti and other areas of the Pacific, and regularly flew from California to the east coast to visit family. 4. Blasey Ford allowed the public and the committee to believe that she was a psychologist in the full meaning of the term. She specifically told the committee that she was a “research psychologist”. She also made the claim on her university web site page, and in several other cases. The legacy media (for instance, theWashington Post and the Atlantic) dropped the “research’ part and repeatedly asserted that she was a licensed psychologist, with no request for a correction from the Blasey Ford camp.

In fact, she is no such thing. While she has done the course work, and was awarded a doctorate in the field, she still lacks certification. To qualify as a “psychologist” in the state of California (and every other state in the union), an individual must serve a one-year residency and pass several rigorous examinations. The FBI’s longstanding role in the nomination process is to supplement the Senate’s own fact finding, not to reach a conclusion. Kavanaugh underwent six FBI full-field background investigations prior to his nomination, and an additional supplemental background investigation at the request of several senators.


Though the FBI is not tasked with reaching conclusions in its background investigations, it is responsible for comprehensively investigating potential violations of federal law, including false statements to Congress. Following then-Chairman Grassley’s investigation into allegations made during the course of the confirmation process, the committee referred several apparent false statements to the Justice Department for investigation. Grassley led colleagues in seeking a status update in 2019, but the FBI and Justice Department failed to respond.


In a letter today to Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Chris Wray, Grassley renewed his request for an update on any action taken by the Justice Department to investigate these potential criminal violations.”

On October 8, 2019, several colleagues and I wrote a letter to Attorney General Barr and Director Wray requesting an update concerning their handling of criminal referrals made by the Committee following its investigation into allegations of decades-old misconduct by then-Judge Brett Kavanaugh.[1] To date, the Justice Department and FBI have failed to respond to our letter and have failed to apprise the Committee whether, and to what extent, any steps have been taken to investigate and hold accountable those individuals who criminally interfered with the Committee’s investigation.

These failures are entirely unacceptable. As my colleagues and I stressed in our previous letter, the Committee’s four criminal referrals, dated September 29, 2018, October 25, 2018, October 26, 2018, and November 2, 2018, were not made lightly. 5. And, as a matter of experience with human nature, ....don't make the mistake of assigning a higher level of integrity and honesty than anyone else.

Now 35 months later, nothing has happened to those who perjured themselves to Congress, on live television. In March 2021, Senator Chuck Grassley, the former Senate Judiciary Committee chairperson who presided over the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings, sought to know why those individuals who had perjured themselves still have not been prosecuted.

Justice Requires the Truth

In a tweet Grassley wrote (paraphrased), “More than two years ago we had some bogus allegations against now Justice Kavanaugh. We know that people lied to Congress and that’s against the law, so I sent a criminal referral to DOJ for prosecution. I sent a letter to DOJ this week wanting to know why these people haven’t been prosecuted two years later.”

And we have other compelling concerns. The Russiagate criminals who won’t serve time in prison is disheartening. James Comey, who lied to Congress, likely will never see a day in jail. Nor will Andrew McCabe, who was dismissed for lack of candor and a bevy of other infractions. James Clapper will likely never spend a day in jail, although he lied to Congress, and then lied about his lie claiming that he was confused.

Perhaps the greatest criminal director that CIA has ever endured, William Brennan, might never spend any time in prison. He knowingly conspired with Barack Obama and Joe Biden in the White House, and actually presented information clearly showing that Hillary Clinton had purchased a phony dossier in the effort to damage Donald Trump."
