The Left's Enduring Charlottesville Lie
The Left's Enduring Charlottesville Lie | Dan O'Donnell | News/Talk 1130 WISN

QUOTE: Whenever Democrats want to blame President Trump for an act of white supremacist violence such as the horrific attack in New Zealand or the imagined attack on Jussie Smollett in Chicago, they and their allies in the national news media invariably cite his statements in the wake of the deadly riot in Charlottesville, Virginia.

"President Trump called white supremacists 'very fine people!'" they shriek.
Only he didn't. He actually said the exact opposite.

  • We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides, on many sides. It's been going on for a long time in our country. Not Donald Trump, not Barack Obama, this has been going on for a long, long time. It has no place in America. What is vital now is a swift restoration of law and order and the protection of innocent lives. No citizen should ever fear for their safety and security in our society. And no child should ever be afraid to go outside and play or be with their parents and have a good time.

The President's inclusion of the phrase "on many sides" immediately set off a media feeding frenzy. Even though violent members of Antifa had joined with those peacefully protesting the "Unite the Right" rally and had sparked physical altercations with the white supremacists attending the rally, Trump critics immediately pounced on what they considered to be equivocation........

The Charlottesville Lie

Did President Trump call neo-Nazis “very fine people” during a famous press conference following the Charlottesville riots of August 2017? The major media reported that he did. But what if their reporting is wrong? Worse, what if their reporting is wrong and they know it’s wrong? A straight exploration of the facts should reveal the truth. That’s what CNN political analyst Steve Cortes does in this critically important video.

Total lie.

Did the black lady that stocks your shelves tell you that?

I'm betting candycorn, Penelope, and other loons of the board don't show up in this thread to comment.

Surprising thing is that CNN of all media outlets were the ones to put this out. I think they're losing viewership and are trying to "right" the ship.

Additionally, that's a long list of lier's and shows the bias of those outlets.

The Democrats, Leftists, and snowflakes went berserk when the president correctly stated the fact that both sides were to blame for the violence in Charlottesville.

FACT:
The White Supremacist group had coordinated with local authorities and obtained a permit to hold a peaceful march.

FACT:
Antifa showed up without any such permit.

FACT:
During an interview with a reporter after the violence / incident was over, a self-proclaimed leader of the Antifa group that showed up in Charlottesville stated they had come to interrupt the white supremacist march by initiating violence and had done so.

FACT:
James Alex Fields Jr drove his car into a group of Antifa members / counter-protestors, killing Heather Heyer and injuring 35 others. He has been charged with1st-degree murder.

FACT:
Dwayne Dixon, a University of North Carolina anthropology professor and leader of the armed Antifa group Redneck Revolt, has admitted to chasing James Alex Fields Jr. with a rifle just before he drove into a group of protesters. Dixon was charged with two misdemeanors after be brought a semi-automatic rifle to downtown Durham over rumors of a “white supremacist rally” that never happened.

He posted on his Facebook page:
"I used this rifle to chase off James Fields from our block of 4th St before he attacked the marchers to the south."

*There are reportedly 40 'chapters' of 'Redneck Revolt' across the US.

"The “counter protesters” were the antagonists in this clash. They attempted to block the lawful entry of the supremacists into the park. They disrupted the alt-right protest. As I suggested above, was an anti-abortion group to block women from entering an abortion clinic, there would be a rapid police response. In this case, because the group with the law on its side is so hated (the white supremacists), none was coming."

“Since the weekend, witnesses have told us that in fact, both sides were antagonizing for a fight,” NBC’s Tom Costello says. Later, the report shows a clip of Trump’s Tuesday press conference in which he said, “What about the alt-left? What about the fact that they came charging…with clubs in their hands, swinging clubs?” Costello’s narration continues, “In fact, that’s true. Witnesses tell NBC News there were people on both sides who seemed ready for a fight and some counter-protesters were armed with clubs, some with pepper spray.”
The BBC published a similar look at the violence in Charlottesville and what Trump said about it. BBC reporter Joel Gunter, who was there Saturday, said, “The President said that the violence on Saturday was perpetrated by both sides.” After playing a clip of Trump’s press conference, Gunter continued, “Trump is right. There was violence on both sides. I saw counter-protesters throw bottles, rocks and paint and clash with the white supremacists. Both sides sprayed pepper spray.”
"Both sides employed violence. Both sides."

Something else Trump said made them nuts:

You have some very bad people in that group, but you also had people that were very fine people on both sides. You had people in that group — excuse me, excuse me — I saw the same pictures as you did. You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down of, to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name.
CBNC called it “jaw dropping.” Problem is, that was also true. Again, the NY Times:

”Good people can go to Charlottesville,” said Michelle Piercy, a night shift worker at a Wichita, Kan., retirement home, who drove all night with a conservative group that opposed the planned removal of a statue of the Confederate general Robert E. Lee.

After listening to Mr. Trump on Tuesday, she said it was as if he had channeled her and her friends — all gun-loving defenders of free speech, she said, who had no interest in standing with Nazis or white supremacists: ”It’s almost like he talked to one of our people.”

When President Trump said BOTH sides were to blame for the violence and that BOTH sides had good as well as bad people he was NOT defending white supremacists, and he was NOT defending Antifa. He was stating a FACT.

Floppingaces.net. You have such a plethora of bullshit sources, Easy65. The opinion of a right wing radical who can't get published by a legitimate source. If these people had any facts or truth, they wouldn't be posting on the internet for trolls like you.

These "sources" have even less credibility than you do. When you can't find ONE legitimate source to back up your lies, you're on REALLY shaky ground. The people who were arrested were the ones who did the killing and the beating. 35 RIGHT WING NAZIS were arrested. How many on the right were hospitalized? How many died?

How many on the left were arrested? That's the real tale. The club wielding Nazis and white supremacists are the guys who got arrested. The left wing protestors are the people they beat up and killed.

He doesn't care what happened, he has his goosestepping orders to follow.

I bring this up all the time with these people. The vast majority just stone wall. Some retreat to the bullshit "codewords" defense.

Like TWO, have admitted that they were wrong. BUT, they still insist that there is so much other evidence that the President or the gop or the whatever are wacism, that it doesn't change anything.

They are all brainwashed zealots.
