Moderate Democrats are complaining that "defund the police" and "socialism" hurt the party whereas those on the far left said those are needed to gin up the progressive.

Let's look at the numbers.

In House District MN05, Ilhan Omar's district, one of the most radical leftists in the House, underperformed the President-Elect by more than any other candidate in the country.

She trailed Biden by 16% in her own district.

People don't want "socialism" and they don't want to defund the police.

The ruling party usually loses seats in the mid-term election. Democrats are almost certainly going to lose the House if they keep this up.

Omar will have a job as long as she wants it, along with the other socialists in the party.

No doubt about it. The Dems badly under-performed because of the loonier parts of the party.

The parties are facing the same problem right now: Controlling and marginalizing their loons.
