Now it’s the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, Tim Kaine, who “does a Maddow” and flat-out lies on national television about Rand Paul. On Fox News Sunday Kaine claimed that Paul said it was “un-American to hold BP accountable” for the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Host Chris Wallace called him out by pointing out that what Paul said was “un-American” was a Democratic pol’s grandstanding bloviation that “we should put a boot on the neck of BP.” Paul said that such rhetoric is un-American, not holding BP accountable for damage it has caused.

Yea they're in Smear-Overdrive at this point. It wont be enough though. Rand will come out on top in the end. Can he really do any worse than the Socialists/Progressives have done lately? I seriously doubt it. Their smearing might make the election closer but Rand will win in the end. The Dems are becoming more & more desperate. They are a real disaster and most Americans understand this. Let em smear away. It wont help. Go Rand!

Rand Paul will be fine.

He made an error in trying to discuss the complexities surrounding the Civil Rights Bill - and in doing so, actually showed a far greater grasp of the history of that legislation than most who are now attempting to spin the intent his response. It would have been far easier for him to simply state - "I want to make sweet hot love to the Civil Rights Bill" and the left would have had to accept him as one of their own! :) Instead, he actually approached it with attempted intellectual understanding of its far reaching implications, and some in the media have now attempted to turn him into an outright racist.

This attempt is not playing in Kentucky though - Rand Paul will be a member of the U.S. Senate - one of MANY new faces coming to Congress after November 2010...

What are the "complexities surrounding the Civil Rights Bill"?

____

Really? You have no idea about the drawn out negotiations, concerns, and resulting implications of the Civil Rights Bill?

Tsk-tsk...

Sourcing HRPuffinstuffPost is gonna really gain ya some credibility......NOT!:lol::lol:
Right...it was a HuffPo person dressed up like Randy saying, "What I don't like from the president's administration is this sort of 'I'll put my boot heel on the throat of BP.' I think that sounds really un-American in his criticism of business,"

Hack.

Right....Rand was talking about how the "boot on the throat" phraseology was un-American, not criticizing BP per se.

But I don't expect partisan hacks to ever read or listen for context and comprehension.

Hack right back at ya, you hack.

"I think that sounds really un-American. Ohhh...so there."

What a doosh. Not only is he stupid, he is also an arrogant fop.

Rand Paul, Rand Paul, Rand Paul! Two months ago he was an unknown eye doctor from Kentucky, now he is making national pronouncements on everything from the BP oil spill to attacking the 1964 Civil Rights Act. If you attack Rand Paul, you are a "lefty." If you ask about Rand Paul as a Presidential Candidate for the newly forming Tea Party, you are attacked.

I can't figure out if this, Rand Paul, is Jesus Christ or Adolph Hitler! But Rand Paul has acquired deep pockets very quickly, and is already baiting President Obama. The most recent New York Times survey shows that 18% of Americans identify with the Tea Bagger "revolution," and 4% of the population are donating cash to it.

Rand Paul did not "attack" the Civil Rights Act but merely attempted to discuss its implications in the realm of private ownership and individual rights.

He repeated many times he was strongly opposed to what he calls institutional racism, but admitted to feeling contradictions may exist between the Civil Rights Act private property. Fact is, Rand Paul is exactly right - these contradictions have long been discussed, and racism does not exist out of that fact.

The Arizona immigration law/debate is very similar in playing out those contradictions.

Rand Paul gave a far more intellectual response than "Yes We Can" - and for that the left will attempt to castigate him as a racist.

It's not working though - Kentucky appears to be very supportive of Rand Paul...

You might want to rethink your post.

Here is a link to an NPR radio interview. Examining Rand Paul's Civil Rights Record : NPR

Here is what the Christian Science Monitor had to say. http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Politi...il-Rights-Act-brouhaha-clouds-Senate-campaign

Here is how it starts, I, an independent voter, asks simple questions, and I am part of the Obama, "Yes we can" team. You might note that Rand Paul was identified first as a Tea Bagger, then as a Republican.
