O’Donnell slams Des Moines Register endorsement of Mitt as ‘magical thinking’

Sarah Muller, @digimuller
11:32 pm on 10/30/2012

MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell accused The Des Moines Register of “adopting Mitt Romney’s magical thinking” by endorsing the Republican candidate for president.

In the Rewrite segment on Tuesday’s edition of The Last Word, he called their decision one of the “most embarrassing endorsements in the history of that newspaper.”

His bone to pick with the Iowa paper’s editorial board revolved around how they argued the case for Romney, not their specific choice of candidate. It’s “not because they chose Romney,” O’Donnell said. “Not because they chose a Republican, but because they gave absolutely no rational reason for it.”

The Register justified its entire endorsement on the basis of consumer confidence.

The op-ed main’s rationale for Romney: “Consumers must feel more confident about their own economic futures to begin spending on the products and services that power the economy. A renewed sense of confidence will spark renewed investment by American companies. Industry will return to full production and hiring will begin again.”

Lawrence O’Donnell taunts Tagg Romney

By KEVIN ROBILLARD | 10/19/12

---

“I know you’ve got a lot, a lot to be pissed off at these days, starting with the name Taggart, which you’ve got every right to be wicked pissed off at for every day of the 42 years of your life,” O’Donnell said. “So let me help you try to deal with all this aggression you’re feeling right now.”

At this point, O’Donnell got out of his chair and began walking around his set.

“You’re mad at President Obama for calling your dad a liar?” he continued. “Well, let’s get something straight, he didn’t call your father a liar. I did. The president just said that what your father said wasn’t true. I’ve been saying all year that your father is a liar. I’ve repeatedly said that your father lies and is trying to lie his way into the White House. So you want to take a swing at someone for calling your old man a liar? Take a swing at me. C’mon, C’mon. And don’t worry, there won’t be any Secret Service involved. And I’ll make it easy for you. I’ll come to you. Anytime. Anywhere. Go ahead, Taggart. Take your best shot.”

O

You're barking up the wrong tree, love Lawrence. Very smart guy and very informed politically.

U.S. Congress

From 1989 to 1995, he was a key legislative aide to Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan. From 1989 to 1991, he served as senior advisor to Moynihan. From 1992 to 1993, he was staff director of the United States Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, then chaired by Senator Moynihan. And then from 1993 to 1995, he was staff director of the United States Senate Committee on Finance, once again under Senator Moynihan’s chairmanship. He thus led the staff of the Senate's tax-writing committee during the consideration of President Bill Clinton's first budget, which Congress enacted in the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993.

Why do you people insist on listening to the opinions of talking heads on the idiot box?

And he's the same jackass who played the race card on Mitch McConnell after he quipped Barry might be interested in getting his PGA card because of all the golf he plays. According to Larry that was more racial code-speak by yet another Republican because Barry's a black man who likes golf and the most famous black golfer on the planet was a serial philanderer while her was married, thus McConnell had to be inferring the same about Barry.

No wonder you love the a-hole. Birds of a feather...

Lawrence O’Donnell gets schooled by former world champion chess player

9/17/13

...

“You know, Kasparov I think said it best last night with Larry O’Donnell on MSNBC. Kasparov is the world champion chess player from Russia,” Glenn said on radio this morning, “And he said, you know, your guy just got smoked.”

Kasparov argued that President Obama failed when he refused to follow through once chemical weapons were used in Syria and his “red line” was crossed. In his view, Russian President Vladimir Putin came out looking like the real winner this situation because he managed to broker a deal that essentially allows Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to be treated as a partner, instead of the war criminal he actually is.

O’Donnell, like the majority of his fellow MSNBC colleagues, doesn’t see it that way.

“Putin got everything he wanted, I think even beyond his wildest expectations,” Kasparov said, “and Obama who once said ‘red line’ he just, in my view, is just blowing up the reputation of his office.”

O’Donnell countered by saying the President won because it seemed to have stopped the use of chemical weapons.

“I agree stopping the use of chemical weapons was the goal,” Kasparov said, “and that’s why the president said ‘red line.’ I understand that ‘red line’ means if that if somebody crosses ‘red line,’ you act and you don’t talk anymore.”

Again, Kasparov wasn’t buying it. “’Red line,’ whether it’s in Russian or English or any other language, it means that you act,” he said. “Barack Obama is the president of America and if he says ‘red line,’ he should, you know, put face value on his words.”

this guy fits the stereotype of stuck up prick elitist perfectly. He drives people OUT of the Democrat party. The episode with Wiener was pathetic, invites the guy on just to be an asshole.

oDonnell just lied that the Cruz"stunt" couldn't have succeeded, if enough republicans(or Democrats) had stood with the American people in opposition to Obama/romney care, regardless of"mandatory"spending, it would have forced negotiations.

now, why do MSNBC democratic talking heads worry ever so much about how the republicans are tearing themselves apart? can you here the sappy strains of 'love love love' in the background?, Its because the democratic establishment is selling out, and these propagandists want you to believe their is no opposition among rank and file democrats to the party line. Why not a show with Jill Stein interviewed on why she opposed Obama/Romney care? Why not a show with union leaders on why they oppose it? Because thats not what these saps are paid for.

MSNBC's O'Donnell Has Great Advice For Hillary on Running Mates

Great advice if you're a Republican, that is.
3.9.2016
News
Caleb Howe

uring MSNBC's primary election coverage on Tuesday night, host Lawrence O'Donnell offered up some advice on whom Hillary should choose as a running mate. The "most exciting, non-presidential candidate" in the Democrat party, by his reckoning. And her name is Elizabeth Warren.

Yes, O'Donnell the socialist sees a vision of fellow capitalism-hater Warren shoring up Hillary's appeal to disenfranchised Bernie voters, who will DEFINITELY get over the fact that their candidate won in Michigan and still received fewer delegates than Hillary because of their system of ruling elites.

MSNBC hosts have a long, sordid, torrid love affair past with Warren, best exemplified in a Rachel Maddow episode in which she spent three full segments building up to the huge enormous coup of an interview with the free enterprising politician that would have made Napoleon himself blush at the immodest fluffery.
