No it's not. The Lancet does not have a shred of evidence that "only a steadfast reliance on basic public health principles — like test, trace and isolate — will see the emergency brought to an end"

Actually, testing is highly overrated. One could be tested for the virus, and be declared negative. Whoopee! And the next day, or a week later, they have it. You'd have to be tested every day, for testing to really be effective.

Secondly, vaccines, new cure, and the virus fading away ARE excellent and promising. How the Lancet comes up with calling these things "magic bullets", is puzzling and silly.
