If you read the Holy Bible you must to read the KJV because most of other political correct liberal translations are wrong. Most of those are adjusted to needs of homosexuals, liberals or politically correct secular humanists and atheists.

It's pretty well known that King James was gay. Not something that can really be denied.

For the sake of argument, let's say you are being honest for once (A stretch, I know).

What the heck does it have to do with the King James version of the Bible?

Great care was taken in the construction of the New International Version (NIV), it took over ten years to complete by over 100 Christian scholars from all over the world. They took great care in maintaining the integrity of the written texts, and have revised it a few times to maintain its integrity. The amount of work put into it is actually pretty amazing.

The New King James Version (NKJV) took seven years to complete by 130 Christian scholars and theologians to update the grammatical structures, so it could be read and understood more easily, and even contains references, and footnotes for possible variations that inevitably occur in any task of translation.

I was told a while back by a Christian I had many discussions with, that the translation is irrelevant as long as it fills the reader with the Holy Spirit, and brings them closer to god.

What's funny about the bitching over how the evil "lefts" are destroying the integrity of the Bible with "liberal" translation is the very existence of the Conservative Bible Project.

The King James Bible is the best version to read. My Grandmother told me that and I believe her.

"This year marks the 400th anniversary of the printing of the book commonly known in America as the King James Bible. In the United Kingdom, this English-language translation is known as the Authorized Version—a more descriptive title embedded with centuries of history, full of intrigue, intertwined with scenes of book burnings, bloody violence and sadistic martyrdom.

By the time James i (James vi of Scotland) came to the throne, two bloodstained centuries of war over Bible translation had taken place. As James ascended the throne, essentially that war was over. People were free to own and read the Scriptures. Now came the need to strip the English Bible of all interpretation. He especially wanted to get rid of the very popular translation known as the Geneva Bible. Full of Calvinist teaching, it stood contrary to his belief in absolute monarchy.

At the surprising suggestion of Puritan leaders (dyed-in-the-wool Calvinists), James personally convened the Hampton Court Conference on Jan. 1, 1604, to officially start the massive translation project. He set strict translation guidelines to ensure translator objectivity and that only the purest translation of the Scriptures was brought into English.

The Bible was divided among six teams of scholars; two each were set up at Westminster, Oxford and Cambridge. Not only did they use the best Hebrew and Greek texts, they took advantage of every available version to compare the variant readings. The basic text was completed in four years. Then the translation was subjected to two additional years of further checking. Then, to ensure the very best translation, in 1610 another team, two men from each of the original six teams, completed a final check.

After nine months of grueling proof, the authorized Bible was printed in 1611. Its contribution to Western society is without question. It has molded and shaped our thinking."

'Queen James'
One area of the life of King James that for many years remained clouded in controversy was allegations that James was homosexual. As James did father several children by Anne of Denmark, it is actually more accurate to say that he was allegedly a bi-sexual. While his close relationships with a number of men were noted, earlier historians questioned their sexual nature, however, few modern historians cast any doubt on the King's bisexuality and the fact that his sexuality and choice of male partners both as King of Scotland then later in London as King of England were the subject of gossip from the city taverns to the Privy Council. His relationship as a teenager with fellow teenager Esmé Stuart, Earl of Lennox was criticized by Scottish Church leaders, who were part of a conspiracy to keep the young King and the young French courtier apart, as the relationship was improper to say the least. Lennox, facing threats of death, was forced to leave Scotland.

In the 1580s, King James openly kissed Francis Stewart Hepburn, Earl of Bothwell. Contemporary sources clearly hinted their relationship was a sexual one. When James inherited the English throne from Queen Elizabeth I in 1603, it was openly joked of the new English monarch in London that “Elizabeth was King: now James is Queen!” If there is still any doubt, it should be noted that George Villiers, also held an intimate relationship with King James, about which King James himself was quite open. King James called Villiers his “wife” and called himself Villiers' “husband”! King James died in 1625 of gout and senility. He is buried in the Henry VII chapel in Westminster Abbey, with one of his favorite male suitors on his right, and another on his left

Well somebody doesn't like to read. She posted the history of the KJV, when it was commissioned by King James I in 1611... or 400 years ago.

You are aware that your question has absolutely nothing to do with what I said.

You know, you should really watch History Channel's "Banned from the Bible" pts 1 and 2.

It will show you how incorrect your statement is.

watch non evangelical TV !....that's a sin!

At any rate...if the Bible is actually "the word of God" as written through the hands of chosen men...then we are all screwed. I mean screwed.
Anyone even marginally proficient in the contents of the Bible cannot argue, if they keep the totality of the written word and not pick and choose what they like or don't like - that almost no one is going to heaven.
We are talking about a book that states numerous times, in the NEW testament - that sex even between a husband and wife - is not preferable to abstinence and devout prayer.
Go ahead and even try to argue the point that through Christ death "we are saved".
Not even close.
Anyone believing in God should hope that the Bible is little more than the ramblings of long dead religious scholars that changed the bible pretty much every generation.
What we have now barely even resembles ancient scrolls in Egypt and Israel.

That's not mentioned in the Bible, so it can't be true.

That's why its good to learn it in it's own language and read variations.
