I've always been fascinated by Laser-Tag and paintball but never played, so I wanted to cast a story about such an 'experience.' I'm also a fan of female characters in creative-writing (even though I'm male), so I wanted to make a spin on a film I saw about hunters using human beings for sport (in a jungle setting).

Shelbye could not tell what was going on around her. She heard the blades of the helicopter she was sitting blindfolded in as it soared away from her hometown where she was kidnapped on this beautiful Sunday afternoon. She didn't scream or ask questions, since she knew these kidnappers meant business; all she could do was wait and see what happened. When the helicopter landed, Shelbye was transported inside a cold building of some kind that echoed like a fortress or cave.
The 'ringmaster' of this 'ceremony' introduced himself to Shelbye (a beautiful young Irish-American woman), whose blindfold was finally removed, as Kraven. Kraven explained that she was here to be part of an elite female unit of forest warriors attempting to evade the male hunters of Kraven in an elaborate 'forest survival trial.' She was to dress in jungle-appropriate primal gear and would be given a spear and bow-and-arrow set. Her allies (all young American women), which included Dawn (a tough young black woman), Teresa (a Jewish woman), Joanna (a German-American), and Elise (an Italian-American), were all dressed in jungle gear and carried like weapons of their own.
As the five young women sat in their cell inside the fortress, waiting for their 'trial' to begin, Shelbye played with her bow-and-arrow, fidgeting with it and satisfying herself that she was ready to use her weapons. Dawn told the group that they should stick together, since this 'female forest hunting trial' was obviously some sort of gender-experiment devised by the sicko-Kraven. Teresa told the group she would work with Elise, and Dawn said she would partner-up with Joanna. Shelbye, who was the most quiet of the group, simply declared she would aid the group any way she could.
The next morning, the five young women (calling themselves the Jungle Girls), were released into the thick forest of what they guessed was South America. Kraven told them that his male hunters would begin pursuing them the next day, so they had exactly one day to prepare for the trial. The girls set up camp and discussed how they would roam around the forest in a circular perimeter so as to be able to better watch each other's backs. They knew Kraven would not send brutes with machine guns but rather skilled minions with crossbows. That night the Jungle Girls told campfire stories about what they hated the most about men. Shelbye surprised everyone by speaking up and declaring that the evil of men is in their intention to sound manly.
Morning arrived, and the Jungle Girls were ready. They began roaming around the forest in a circular perimeter, each ready with their bow-and-arrow or spear. They were all fit and slender and adequately strong and were ready to wrestle down Kraven's male ghouls when they arrived. The girls kept scouring the forest until finally they noticed a group of male midgets armed with crossbows. The Jungle Girls were at first shocked and then amused, wondering why Kraven hired male midgets. Shelbye suggested this 'gender forest hunting trial' was meant to see who was more savage.
Shelbye walked up to one of the midgets and dropped her spear in front of him. She told him she was not willing to fight-to-the-death a group of male midgets in what was obviously some kind of bizarre savagery experiment. The male midget she approached, a blonde man named Tim, explained to her that if he and his midget cohorts did not carry out the hunting mission, Kraven would harm their families. Shelbye devised a plan for everyone to escape this terrible trial.
Kraven landed the next day on his helicopter and was shocked to discover that the Jungle Girls were sitting around laughing and giggling. He walked up to them (armed with his machine-gun) and asked them where his hunting male midgets were, and Shelbye bluntly told him that the girls ate their flesh for dinner and burned the rest of their bodies for respect. Kraven was horrified and dropped his machine-gun, and when he did, Tim jumped out of the bushes and grabbed it, and Shelbye tied up Kraven with Dawn's rope. The girls and the male midgets left Kraven there in the jungle and escaped safely in the helicopter.
Two years had passed, and Shelbye was now an anthropology professor at Tufts University. She had a nice apartment and was dating a handsome assistant professor named Will. Everything was back to normal for her. Then, one day, after class, she got a phone call from Dawn. Dawn told her that she heard on the news that Kraven was apprehended and arrested by the U.S. Coast Guard while trying to smuggle weapons for the Yakuza. Shelbye laughed and told Dawn that Kraven would be remembered as 'Doctor Strange.' Dawn told Shelbye she was writing a gender-propaganda novel titled The Jungle Girls.
