In the minds of likely voters, Washington, not Wall Street, is primarily to blame for the financial crisis and the subsequent recession.

That is the key finding of this week’s The Hill poll, which comes as the national Occupy Wall Street movement — a protest that objects to risky practices and excessive salaries at major banks, along with American income disparities in general — enters its second month.

The movement appears to have struck a chord with progressive voters, but it does not seem to represent the feelings of the wider public.

Tough call but i think i agree with this poll. Washington is worse. They've completely bankrupted many generations to come. Politicians are now rated as low as Lawyers at this point. $16 Trillion in Debt and numerous stupid Wars tips the scales in favor of Washington.

anyone who disagrees with the poll either isnt paying attention or has an agenda.

We're talking about the corruption that takes BOTH people in government AND in Private industry.

Q: How does one asign the greater share guilt?

A: By paying attention to the DETAILS.

Paying attention to the details is too much trouble for most of this boards post by the seat of their hateful pants trolls.

They're satisfied letting TV's partisan talking heads do their thinking for them.

Yea,

The truth is "Washington" and what we're referring to as "Wallstreet" (which is unfair, since it's not ALL corrupt, but I'll use it to make my statement); are one in the SAME. The poll is irrelevant. They are the same Demon.

I agree. Our Govt is full of Greedy politicians. Wall St. has loads of greedy folks as well.

However Wall St. can't do anything unless Govt paves the way for em. Govt is where the laws, regs and oversite origionates. Apparantly oversite was on VK for quite a while.

These OWS folks are barking up the wrong tree. They should all be in DC asking our elected officials where the hell they were when the meltdown happened. They were all asleep at the switch or counting their money. They sure as hell weren't looking out for the American people.

Look at that! A nutter calling for greater government oversight and regulations. Thanks for echoing the mantra of the OWS folks, Claudette.

omg, yawn:eusa_hand:
IF they were echoing the same mantra, then they would be "occupying" the white house. not some PARK in New York. but they won't because they know it will hurt the Obama's reelection. they are not fooling anyone.

Lets say you are correct in your assertion that these protesters are motivated by a desire to help Obama get re-elected. What does that tell you?

Some of us know the difference between right and wrong.

Spreading the wealth is simply organized theft.

If you listen to some Democrats they feel that the best way to get re-elected is to beat the rich over the head demanding payment. They've ginned up this class-warfare deal in hopes that it will win them votes. It doesn't matter to them if they fix our problems or improve our lives because that isn't the purpose. The purpose is to make themselves look better in the eyes of the folks. Envy, jealousy, and hatred is a powerful tool that the worst of use quite effectively.

LMAO Nope. Just wishing they would have been doing what they were elected to do. Oversee to make sure something like the meltdown didn't happen.

You can of course believe as you wish. Talk about a nutter. You fill the bill. Carry on.

Washington and Wall Street are the same entity. But people elect Politicians and expect more from them. And all they've done in recent years is give the people a massive $16 Trillion Debt and continuous warfare. They have failed the people miserably.

Everyone but Obama and the left gets it. Those protesters are just too stupid to take their message where it could actually have an impact. Someone needs to give them. garmin

You do realize that Republicans are part of DC, don't you? They only control the House of Reps.

Washington is Wall Street and vice-versa. But ultimately it's Washington who has screwed the people. They've left only a bleak future for our children.
