Using population growth as a measure, not only do I think the interglacial warming period has been a great boon for Homo Sapiens but also the cheap energy of fossil fuels has exponentially increased that measure in the last century or two.

Agreed but it can't go on and on in a wasteful way and population growth needs to be greatly reduced into the future or the planet will just suffer even more from over farming and ocean depletions.

There are some serious environmental problems not being properly addressed because there is no money in it thus the few states ecologist and biologists have to fight to protect and save what they can such as Blue Tuna and other sea foods that are being overharvested.

Homes are poorly designed and wasteful to keep warm and cool in the proper seasons, they don't incorporate berming, passive soler heating, passive underground cooling and wind deflection methods to greatly reduce heating and cooling needs.

Also, regarding the 84 times GWP for CH4….99.9+% of IR photons that hit either a CH4 or CO2 molecule will rattle the molecule a bit harder and warm up the thousands of other air molecules around them. Emitting an IR photon of the same energy is a relatively rare occurence compared to kinetics.

So an IR photon will be absorbed by a CH4, or a CO2, or a H2O, mostly warming a wee bit the surrounding air molecules, or possibly zip through the atmospheric window….but implying CH4 is going to cause 84 times the warming as CO2 has lost sight of how many IR photons are available from the surface to start with.
