....to our nation occurred on this day in

died on this day in 2004.

Having righted the economy, and ended the threat of the 'Evil Empire,' Ronald Reagan went to his reward.

Sadly, as they do with every pro-America and anti-communist hero, the Left has smeared the memory of this great man, the finest President in one hundred years.

"Ronald Reagan, though dismissed by Europeans as a second-rate actor and fondler of cue cards, possessed that magic faculty that separates run-of-the mill politicos from history-molding leaders. "I didn't understand", recalls Time's Joe Klein, "how truly monumental, and morally important, Reagan's anti-communism was until I visited the Soviet Union in 1987." He continues with a seemingly trivial vignette. Attending the Bolshoi Ballet, he was nudged by his minder: "'Ronald Reagan. Evil empire', he whispered with dramatic intensity and shot a glance toward his lap where he had hidden two enthusiastic thumbs up. 'Yes!'"

When an American president manages to pluck the soul strings of those who have been raised to fear and despise what he represents, he surely deserves the honorific 'great.'"

Reagan was a gift for our economy, and the prosperity of the average American.

  1. Under Reagan, the debt went up $1.7 trillion, from $900 billion to $2.6 trillion.
  2. But….the national wealth went up $ 17 trillion
  3. Reagan's near-trillion-dollar bulge in defense spending transformed the global balance of power in favor of capitalism. Spurring a stock-market, energy, venture-capital, real-estate and employment boom, the Reagan tax-rate cuts and other pro-enterprise policies added some $17 trillion to America's private-sector assets, dwarfing the trillion-dollar rise in public-sector deficits and creating 45 million net new jobs at rising wages and salaries.

You're worried about ketchup, when the Democrat who preceded Reagan installed the homicidal maniac as ruler of Iran.

Ketchup, or Reagan's ability to deal with evil......you can't decide which is more important.

Amazing.

Reagan is a myth who keeps on giving. Kinda funny but for those of us who lived through his presidency much is forgotten. He raised taxes several times, even taxed our company profit sharing plan. In the end we made out fine but for others I'm sure it hurt. He was actually a tool for dark money in the end, for the interested history reader see book linked below. As for PC she is a broken record but we still luv her.

Hi, middy!

Question: how can Reagan be a 'myth' when everything here is true?

And if you have some time on your hands......this book is worth reading...

While ‘History’ implies the past, one should never forget Santayana’s warning about remembering the past.

This day is an anniversary that has moment for the riots and events of this week.

June 5th, 1947, In an address at Harvard University, U.S. Secretary of State George C. Marshall advanced the idea of the Marshall Plan, a European self-help program to be financed by the United States.
Britannica.com

What is momentous is that the Marshall Plan, under Democrat Harry Truman, was a spit in the eye of the homicidal psychopath, Joseph Stalin.

While Truman was under the influence of the larger-than-life, Franklin Roosevelt, he was as pro-communist as FDR was. But Truman had an epiphany, truly a gift of the Providence mentioned in the Declaration of Independence, and he reversed FDR’s Soviet Plan, known as the Morgenthau Plan.

Two very different plans, the Marshall Plan and the Morgenthau Plan. The former pro-Americanism, while the latter one pro-communism.
I’ll explain both plans.

In order to cement the plans that he had for Europe, Joseph Stalin needed Germany reduced to being unable to resist communism after the war.Toward this end, he ordered Franklin Roosevelt to refuse Germany’s surrender unless it involved his enemy being unable to offer any resistance to his Red Army.

Stalin's policy was simple: the result of the war had to leave Germany a smoldering wreckage, with no ability to resist Stalin's forces. This was the basis of the Morgenthau Plan.

"Archival evidence indicates that the Soviet’s wanted the war to continue long enough for them to conquer Eastern Europe and in order for Germany to be utterly destroyed or “pastoralized” which was called for in the Morgenthau Plan which was actually written by Soviet spy Harry Dexter White. The Soviets were also clamoring for a “second front” in France in order to deflect the allies out of Italy and the Balkans which was too close to Russia."
Chuck Morse Speaks: The Canaris Cover-up

Harry Hopkins, Stalin's spy who actually lived in the White House gave a speech on June 22, 1942, at the Russia Aid Rally, Madison Square Garden, where he said "And his cities, one by one, will be destroyed by Allied air forces." Ottawa Citizen - Google News Archive Search

Hopkins was telegraphing Stalin's demands that Germany be pulverized, pastoralized, de-industrialized.....just after anti-Nazi/anti-communist German resistance have made contact with the Allies to talk surrender.

The Morgenthau Plan calling for total annihilation of Germany, and 'unconditional surrender'.......

When the German nation understood what Stalin and Roosevelt had planned.....guess what it did to their resolve?

The left hated Reagan mostly because he was able to handle the media. When he said "there you go again" it reduced the hostile media to a joke. After he left office the republicans went back to being wimps until Trump came along. You have to scratch your head over the democrat party's attempt to impeach Reagan over Iran/Contra when Clinton bypassed Congress and bombed Europe. It goes back to the power of the press that never saw a democrat they didn't like.

I believe that the hatred is largely based on how successful he was, especially against their predecessors, the Soviet Communists.

The Morgenthau Plan (German: Morgenthau-Plan [ˈmɔɐ̯ɡn̩taʊ ˌplaːn]) by the Allied occupation of Germany following World War II was a proposal to eliminate Germany's ability to wage war by eliminating its arms industry, and the removal or destruction of other key industries basic to military strength.
Morgenthau Plan - Wikipedia

The Germans fought more fiercely once they were made aware of Stalin's plan to grind their country to dust....the Morgenthau Plan.

"There is no way of calculating the number of American servicemen who lost their lives as a result of this policy."
"The Morgenthau Plan: Soviet Influence on American Postwar Policy," John Dietrich, p. 70-71

Perhaps....but I did state this in the OP: 'The Morgenthau Plan' As Death Sentence....

....for thousands of American Soldiers at the Ardennes.

What impact did the Morgenthau Plan have on the German fighting forces...specifically at the Ardennes?

"...German forces launched an unexpected last ditch offensive through the Ardennes, the epic fighting best known to us as the Battle of the Bulge.

In all nineteen thousand Americans were killed before it was all over in late January 1945, making this battle the costliest battle for the United States in the whole war." Diana West, "American Betrayal," p.299.

This never would have occurred had Roosevelt told Stalin that he would begin talks with anti-Nazi, anti-communist Germans who were enemies of Hitler and the Nazis.

But.....something was far more important to Franklin Delano Roosevelt, than the lives of the American soldiers he should have been expected to protect.

Know what was more important?
Joseph Stalin.

"....over one hundred thirty-five thousand American GIs died – a startling figure today – between D day[June 6, 1944] and V-E day,[May 8, 1945]...."
So did the Red Army really singlehandedly defeat the Third Reich?

135,000 more American soldiers, sons, fathers, brothers..
...who would never be celebrated, welcomed home as heroes,
....would have danced in Times Square.
....
...sacrificed by FDR in the service of Joseph Stalin and Soviet Communism.

The reverse of the Stalin/FDR Morgenthau Plan was authorized by Truman, to the utter consternation of Stalin.

U.S. President Harry S. Truman signed into law George C. Marshall's post-World War II plan to revive the economies of western and southern European countries so as to foster democracy in the region.

The Marshall Plan, also known as the European Recovery Program, was a U.S. program providing aid to Western Europe following the devastation of World War II. It was enacted in 1948 and provided more than $15 billion to help finance rebuilding efforts on the continent.Aug 21, 2018

Marshall Plan - HISTORY

Contrary to the wishes of Stalin's vassal, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, events convinced Truman to break the hold the dictator of Russia had on American foreign policy.

Stalin had demanded, and, of course, FDR acquiesced, to 'unconditional surrender,' meaning no end to the war until Germany was ground to dust, 'pastoralized,' so as not to be any resistance to communist control of Europe post-war.

Truman reverted to being an American President, and instituted a plan to rebuild Europe.

Truman should be canonized!!
