The Future of The G.O.P.

Won the House and tied the senate isn't losing bigly, is it?
It is when it is a narrow margin in a midterm midterm in the midst of an economic crisis and an unpopular president. To only maintain the status quo in the Senate (which could still amount to losing a seat) isn’t much to brag about. There was no shellacking this time around.

WRONG. The GOP had 20-some seats to defend in the house before it even gained a single seat. The GOP held all that, will take the House, and could be neck and neck with the Senate. Had McConnell not pulled millions of dollars from three GOP candidates who needed the money, they might have easily TAKEN the Senate. Instead, Mitch used all that money to ensure HIS close pals won over other republicans the public actually wanted.

So, considering the head of your own party is stabbing you in the back, extensive media corruption and other election mischief, the GOP did as well or better than expected. But I appreciate your admitting we ARE in an economic crisis and that Joe Brandon is VERY unpopular.

In two years, we will have a full 4 years of Joe PLUS the DNC will have around 33 seats to defend!!! :laugh2:

No, they didn't. In fact, according to RCP, the Democrats were defending more seats than the Republicans were due to redistricting.

I mean, it's nice to see you guys turning on McConnell, but the guy you really need to be turning on is Trump.

...so will the democrats un-gerrymander their states as well?

p.s. the GOP is gaining minority voters, duh
A good point.

ALL Gerrymandering must end.

The numbers might end up about the same if the R's give up their city seats in the east and the D's give up their Gerrymandered rural seats out west, the net result may simply be a bitch-slap on extremism and shift us back to the middle where we belong.

Totally agree, end gerrymandering.

Keep in mind that this was not the typical boring midterm.
The USSC ruling on abortion energized young voters like never before to vote en masse for democrats.
What economic crisis? Inflation? I'm confused as to wtf Biden's messaging is on the economy, I thought he said its fine?!
Republicans said its a mess due to Biden's war on energy and open borders.

Not a shellacking due to the USSC's abortion ruling.
However, polls still show that the US shows 80% think the US is on the wrong track.
Democrat voters picked Fetterman over Dr. Oz. Apparently low info voters.

That isnt how politics work. One party can become very popular for a time (though democrats are FAR from popular right now), but then when things go bad, people want a change in leadership. This idea that democrats will win every election going forward simply isnt possible. If youre the only game in town, YOU will eventually be the bad guys and people will look for an alternative.

Instead of worrying about what republicans are going to do to win future elections, democrats should be working their asses off to keep voters on their side. I cant imagine that shutting down coal plants and stop oil drilling is going to work out very well for you guys.

Most coal fired power plants in the US are 40 years old. The question is who is going to invest in building new ones.

Dont need to invest in new ones. Dems need to just stop trying to close our existing ones.

Take Illinois.

Yes, let's look at Illinois

"Aging out" has never been a reason anyone has given for shutting down coal plants. Get these weak responses out of my face!

Lol 😅 coal fired power plants get old and need replacement. Where are the investors?
