A woman asked Romney a question during the debate. She said, basically, that while she was not all that happy with what has gone on with the Obama administration during the past four years, she is nonetheless mindful of the fact that it was eight years of a Republican administration that got Obama into the mess he inherited when he took office in 2008. So, she asked Romney, why should she vote for the same kind of administration now, that is largely responsible for the whole disaster to begin with. How does he (Romney) differentiate himself from George W. Bush? How does she know she isn't voting for more of the same from another Republican administration?

A farmer puts a fox in charge of watching his hen house. After a week or so, the farmer discovers that over half of his chickens are gone. The fox has put on weight and has been seen with chicken feathers on the corners of his mouth. The farmer fires the fox, and installs an electronic monitoring system designed to catch intruders who might be after his chickens. After several months of the electronic alarm system, the farmer is unhappy. He hasn't lost any more chickens, but the number of chickens in his hen house is not increasing to his satisfaction. So he gets rid of the electronic alarm system and re-hires the fox.

I have no intention of re-hiring the fox on November 6th.

The person we "hired" to fix our economy four years ago has proven himself to be clueless about how to do that. Barack Obama was elected after making vague promises of "Hope & Change" and assuring us all that even though he had no executive experience that his "innate intelligence" would carry the day.

The truth is...we got sold a pig in a poke. Barack Obama had no plan to fix the economy. He doesn't understand basic economic theory...he's absolutely lost when it comes to understanding what makes businesses succeed or fail...and worst of all he has no ability whatsoever at bipartisanship at a time when we desperately need some.

Mitt Romney on the other hand, understands how economies function...understands what businesses NEED...has a history of working across the aisle to get legislation passed...and has a proven track record of fixing things that are broken.

Given all of THAT...why would you give a failure another four years?

After Romney had answered that question, I was hoping for the President to ask him this:

"Governor. If you're so different from George Bush, why are so many your closest advisors and policy makers former members of the Bush administration?"

Sadly....he didn't and a real opportunity was lost.

Obama should have been asked how is he different from Jimmy Carter.

I have no intention of re-hiring Jimmy Carter.

his "innate intelligence" would carry the day.

Yet, here you are ready to fall for a different version of the same thing. How many times during that debate did Mitt Romney say, "I have the experience to do that" without revealing how? In other words...."trust me."

His whole campaign is built upon "trust me," yet we can't even trust him to tell the same story about anything from one day to the next!

So true. Romney will not give a plan and the only place he seems to be looking to get a plan is from members of the Bush administration.

George, Your kid(s) give you a lot of strange looks, don't they? :wink_2:

As opposed to Obama who was "Hope and Change" and now "Forward". What the hell does any of that mean?

Vague as it may be, Romney at least has a vision...Obama has more of the same... whatever that is supposed to be. He, himself doesn't have a clue. Putting the country on Auto-Pilot going "FORWARD", I suppose.

Sounds like the fox is in charge of hiring more, well, foxes.

Leavitt, who was secretary of Health and Human Services under President George W. Bush, is heading up Romney's "Readiness Project" from a Capitol Hill office and has already set out to identify the best people to take on top roles in a potential Romney presidency, as well as work with Republican congressional leaders on what the administration might do once in office.

I think we fired the wrong fox.

You good folks can carp all you want about how, in your opinion, Pres. Obama hasn't fixed anything, has made matters worse, etc. First off, I totally disagree with any such opinion. You may not like "Obamacare," but that doesn't mean it isn't a good thing for our country which, of course, it clearly is.

But the mess that the Bush administration made of our economy and our foreign policy cannot be denied. Romney isn't telling me how he would be any different. He isn't telling anyone that. "Trust me." Right . . . .

Keep telling yourself that right up to Romney's Inauguration. Parts of Obamacare are good and Romney already said he will keep the good parts such as keeping kids on parent's policies until 26 just as one example.

Putting the economy on auto-pilot is not an economic plan. That's what he did for the last 4 years and by asking for time it's what he plans on for the next 4. All while telling everyone it's Booooooooooosh's fault, "Georgie":cool:

Bush didn't get any help. That much is what is certain.

Obamacare was passed 3.5 years ago. Very little of it is has been implemented. The pain is soon to come, after the election of course.
