WRONG. The French Revolution of 1789 completely revamped French society. The King and the nobles were either executed or exiled. The Paris Commune was developed amd it was a Communism of sorts. Elitist???? The 1789 French revolution eliminated the nobility.

Anybody think the Paris Commune was voted into power? The French might have tried communism for a while but it was the revolutionary elite who created it.
