Well, I just finished reading the book "Jarhead" (the soon to be released movie). Talk about two entirely different viewpoints! I liked The Fearless Man a lot (even if it is about Marines...heh).
"Jarhead", on the other hand, could have been written by Michael Moore...very anti-war, denigrates women at every opportunity, arrogance on the author's part is rife through out the work (everyone is stupid but himself), disingenous with half truths, distortions and outright lies. The author has an obvious agenda. He does however, reveal some of the root causes for his twisted thinking by exposing his abnormal upbringing by an abusive father, etc. If the movie is anything at all like the book (Isuspect it will be) be prepared to suspend your belief. It will most certainly be as fictitious as the latest space opera.
