Here is a story that is new to me. The effects of the slaughter are still being felt today. In the article they actually interview a bloke whose beloved grandfather was a lyncher.

There seem to be a number of these atrocities coming to light all the time. Perhaps President Joe should create a truth and reconciliation commission to investigate the massacres and deal with the theft. There seems to be a concerted effort to subjugate Black folk.

Not many movies get made about these stories.

1919? Over a hundred years ago?

Jesus Christ Lefty, stop living in the past.

YOu might as well bitch that you want Jamaica back as a colony, or maybe whine like a faggot over not being able to sell opium in China any more.

Interesting... what is more interesting is England especially profited off of slavery. Entire fortunes, and including the crown engaged in the slave trade for decades.
Why don't you worry about your own damn atrocities?
Because if you want to have an argument about who has more atrocities... the UK wins that one hands down. It isn't even close.

Huge amounts of deflection going on here.

Why dont you all go and start British empire bad threads and I will jump in with you.

When you have done that, come back and discuss the Elaine Massacre and the theft of Black owned land.

The British colonized and brutally subjugated about 3/4 of the world's population.
But the looney tune Tommy Taint Normal ignores all that, so he can focus on America's less than perfect history. ....

And Tainted Tommy is fussing about something that happened in a part of the world that successfully rebelled against the tyrannical domination of the British, to become an independent, sovereign nation.

Not to minimize the horror of what happened at that event, but it was never any business of the British. Tainted Tommy should worry about the beam in his own country's eye, rather than about the motes that he thinks he sees in any other countries' eyes.

I'd bring the British Empire back , enlist Tommy here.

Maybe send him in a boat to communicate with cannibal tribes on some Pacific Island on behalf of the UK.

"Our people were doing well here before 1919: owning our own land, selling our own crops, teaching in schools, running businesses. Like in Tulsa, the massacre happened here because we were doing well. They sent people from Helena and neighboring states to Elaine to murder and lynch us. They changed our deeds in the courthouse and did whatever they needed to do to get us out of the way so they could take our land. There were some sharecroppers here, but many of us were families, like mine, who owned land."
It sounds pretty horrific.

Why would any normal adult want to have that argument ? UK has had loads of atrocities, start a thread about them and then come and discuss this one.

Hey Tommy boy. ...
In the same year 1919 of the so called Elaine massacre you are crying about.
Here is what the British did to unarmed people in India.

"Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, incident on April 13, 1919, in which British troops fired on a large crowd of unarmed Indians in an open space known as the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar in the Punjab region (now in Punjab state) of India, killing several hundred people and wounding many hundreds more. It marked a turning point in India’s modern history, in that it left a permanent scar on Indo-British relations and was the prelude to Mohandas (Mahatma) Gandhi’s full commitment to the cause of Indian nationalism and independence from Britain."

Shocking. Start a thread about it.

Reparations are clearly in order in this case. The perpetrators are all dead but their descendents should not benefit from their savagery.
