The Democrat Party: The Party that tried to Filibuster the Civil Rights Act.

trying to conflate the Dem party of today with the Dixiecrats of 1965 and before is stupid and dishonest.

Those Dixiecrats are now solidly Republicans
there was no Dixiecrats in 1965.....the Dixiecrats were created in 1948 by some dems, to run against Truman, they dissolved that same year, and where welcomed back in the party by 1952...with open arms...the Dems even nominated one of them as VP

?
what do you have a question about?
Your ridiculous claim
Ever hear of the “Solid South”?
What did I say that was ridiculous? It wasn't a claim...it's historic fact.

Yes the Dems had the South...solidly for decades...it started to break apart after years of GOP pushing of Civil Rights legislation got through...amazing once the Dems were no longer to oppress votes..things slowly turned around...now the South is no longer a oppressive poor regime and we are starting to see a strong economy...and a lot of migration to the south.

Can you point to a single piece of Civil Rights Legislation that was passed by a Republican Congress, or promoted by a Republican President. I googled it and I could find a single piece of Civil Rights Legislation since 1932 that was promoted by a Republican President, or passed by a Republican Congress.
If nor for Republicans the racist Dimwingers would have successfully killed the CRA.

I higher percentage of Republicans in Congress voted for the CRA than Dimwingers.

100% of Northern Democrats and Northern Republicans voted for the CRA. The same cannot be said for Southern Republicans. 100% of Southern Democrats voted against it, and 34 Southern Republicans voted against it in the House, 6 Republican Senators in the Senate. While enough Southern Republicans voted in favour of the CRA, to ensure its passage, there was a substantial portion of the Southern politicians on both sides of the aisle who voted against it, and after the passage of the CRA, nearly all of those Democrats became Republicans and that continues to this day.

It resulted in the cleansing of racist policies from the Democratic platform, and the full on adoption by the party of a policy of equal rights for regardless of race. You point to the history, but fail to point out that this resulted in a political re-alignment of racists politics in the USA.

But the southern democrat voters still voted the same democrats back into office after the Civil Rights vote. They were not run out of the democrat party.

They were marginalized in the same way that Trumpists are marginalizing moderate conservatives in the Republican Party today, and with the same result. Republican voters are still electing the same Republican politicians as before, but membership in the Republican Party is bleeding away, and while fewer are signing on to any political affiliation and staying independent, big business and Wall Street are defunding the Republican Party, and Trumpism is starting to die off.

Even the conservative right are castigating FOX News for continuing to promote the Big Lie, and the toxic racist ideas of white supremacy, and white nationalism, and the NRA's 2nd Amendment agenda. Calling Rupert Murdoch's continuing promotion of these lies for his own personal benefit, a dangerous path for the nation, and indeed the world through Skye News.

It didn't happen overnight with the Southern Democrats and it won't happen with Trumpism either. But out of power, out of favour and out of money, the Dixiecrats soon either got with the new platform, and recanted segregation, or they joined the Republican Party when Ronald Reagan offered them shelter with his dogwhistle racism.

So? A higher percentage of Republicans voted for it.

100% of the racists who filibustered it were Dimwingers, including Pedo Joe’s ”mentor”, the Klan leader Robert KKK Byrd.

The Prime Minister of KKKanada is a black face wearing racist.

No wonder Dragonbreath loves him.

Just shameful

is it any wonder Asian-Americans get assaulted regularly on the streets of liberal run cities? Zero consequences and the leader of the libs makes disrespectful and bigoted remarks like this

Not only did Al Gore's father lead the fight to deny blacks their Civil Rights,, but the Mentor of today's leader of the Democrat party was one of those racists who tried to deny blacks equal rights.

How is it that the DEMOCRAT party can elect a KKK Leader to the Senate until he died in 2010, AND have two of their Presidential candidates in this century closely tied to the attempt to deny blacks their civil rights?

Democrats have been the party of racism since they created the Confederacy, the KKK, Jim Crow and Segregation. Today they just use blacks for power and keep them in ghettos.

I haven't been reading every post, but I assume by now someone has long since pointed out to you that the liberal Democrats of today are diametrically opposite from the conservative Southern Democrats of the 1860s, and you're just choosing to ignore that, right?
