The decline of oil

How many new nuclear plants should we build?
That depends on how much libs love the polar bears I suppose

so you tell us

the discovery and production of oil gas been a blessing for mankind

oil created the technological miracle we enjoy today

I would think building modern Nuclear power plants would greatly stretch out oil and coal reserves into the future, reduce CO2 emissions that so worries warmist/alarmists so much, but they are often the very same people who oppose Nuclear power in the first place.

Exactly

for freaked out libs its wind mills or nothing

Perhaps - can you specify who you mean by "libs?"

But wind is not the only non-polluting source of energy. For example:

"Beneath the surface of the earth lies a huge treasure. It is not gold, silver, or precious stones. Rather, it is a tremendous store of heat called geothermal energy.....

And in recent years significant progress has been made here in tapping geothermal resources for the production of electricity. In fact, the Philippines has become one of the world’s largest producers of power from geothermal energy. Over 20 percent of all electricity used in the country comes from this source.

To learn more about how electricity is produced from the earth’s heat, Awake! visited a large geothermal facility called Mak-Ban, in the Philippine province of Laguna. This installation has the capacity to generate 426 megawatts of power. Let’s take a brief look at how this is done."

See the article.

There is no telling to the ignorant. Sense is wasted on the senseless. Alternative energies require thinking and a taste for aesthetics, something largely lacking in the oil shill group.

Great

what are you waiting for?

if the energy is there why have libs - in this case greenies freaked out by global warming - not developed it?

The Yellowstone park can be used for such kind of energy.

But no energy for electricity production is 100% contamination free. From your article:

On the negative side, there are some environmental concerns. Geothermal steam usually contains hydrogen sulfide, which is toxic in high quantities and a nuisance in low quantities because of its sulfurous smell. However, treatment processes for removing it are effective and more efficient than emission-control systems at fossil-fuel power plants. Moreover, particulates in the effluent may contain small amounts of arsenic or other toxic substances. When these are reinjected into the ground, the danger is kept to a minimum. Contamination of groundwater supplies can also be a problem if the geothermal wells have not been sealed to great depths with steel casings and cement.

Alternative energies require thinking and a taste for aesthetics,

And money, lots and lots of money.

OH, and now I am supposed to believe in little green men? Nice to ad-lib though.

Seriously, the article I linked to involves providing 20% of the electricity of the Philippines from geothermal energy. One person cannot build such a complex system.

But one can live in partially underground homes!

You never heard environmentalists referred to as greenies?

Thats even an accepted term within the environmentalist movement

but I suspect you know that and are just trying to change the subject

How much money will that cost? How much will it save? Link?

How many new nuclear plants should we build?
