DNA sequencing was still new back then but authorities did identify the anthrax strain and tied it to an Army lab ... next step was finding the perp who had off'ed himself before he could be arrested ...

Right ... no sensational court trial with hourly updates for two years ... that's why your tabloids missed it ...
