We Republicans owe a huge debt of gratitude to the MSM and its insightful pundits who have now pronounced the untimely death of NJ Governor Chris Christie's 2016 Presidential Prospects.

To us, it merely seemed like a despicable trick played by his staffers without his knowledge, pursuant to which, when he found out the facts, he fired the bastards.

All in all, not a bad episode for the Governor himself.

But no,

He is mortally wounded (we are told) by this outrageous failure of leadership. It typified everything bad about this rude, uncouth bully of a politician.

Funny how, when a potential Democrat is exposed as having been grossly unaware, badly mishandled something, or has made pronouncements that look foolish or fatuous in retrospect, their prospects are never hurt. But any incident that is even arguably negative is a death blow to any Republican's chances for the WH.

Odd.

Or maybe it is generally a bad idea to take advice or accept assertions from people who hate you and wish you the worst.

No fan of Christie but assuming further investigations turn up nothing he'll be fine. Other than lefty partisan assholes, I think most normal folks believe what he said and accept his actions and apologies.

It the long run I wouldn't be surprised if he's enhanced his position by demonstrating the kind of leadership so sorely lacking by many elected executives, including the empty suit currently polluting our White House.

Here was one of the most vindictive, inept and corrupt mayors in all of America...yet he was reelected. And he got a COMPLETE pass on his unforgivable, if not criminal neglect of duty during Katrina.
This is the true color of the mainstream left media.

Got any facts to back you idiot claim?

He did, but that's only proof color blindness is the lefts favorite crutch

Christie is dead as far as being the pres. nominee, at least I hope so.

Like Anthony Wiener?

The Teabaggers must be thrilled about this.

With Christie out of the way, they're one giant step closer to having one of their rightwing freakshows nominated in 2016.

But is Christie in the least plausible as a Presidential candidate? Quite apart from 'Bridgegate' does not his lack of self-control, frequently demonstrated, rule him out? And would the GoP really go for one seen as the Democrats favourite Republican?

That's assuming he was ever had potential in the first place. Not much Repub support of him before or after this "scandal". He's been knocked around by his party more than beloved.

He's apparently a badass fundraiser, but it doesn't seem like they've ever had much love of the idea of him as a national representative of the party.

Dude answered one thousand questions yesterday at a 2 + hour press conference.
What Democrat has ever done that after one of their own in their administration made a massive fuck up?
He is owning up to it.
Democrats lie, cheat and fib their way out.

Spitzer and McGreevey quit.

And their "fuckups" were personal.
