Prosecutors warning there is evidence that does not support criminal charges. There's something here that we don't know about.
No training and no procedures specify suffocating a suspect in the pursuit of justice.
This is clearly murder.

Taking drugs does not negate your actions if you kill someone.

What was Chauvin's justification for putting his knee on Floyd's neck? He feared for his life from a man in handcuffs?

And with other officers there with him, too. Although it wasn't putting his knee on Floyd's neck that I think is really the problem, it was leaving it there for so long, including after Floyd became unresponsive. If he had just used the knee as a method to subdue Floyd to get cuffs on him, it would be far more understandable. Leaving his knee there while Floyd lay cuffed on the ground, with other officers there to assist should Floyd become aggressive, seems pretty inexcusable.
