It's not so surprising given the gullibility of Trumpette's, the tabloid style of "journalism" practiced by conservative media, and...........of course...........the Orange Fraud's love of conspiracy theories.

There is no greater existential threat to the US, indeed the world, than the unfolding crisis we call global warming.

But we have a problem in this country that is almost as perilous. Namely, our inability to effectively govern ourselves. The examples above help explain why. Those stories are representative of a party whose base of supporters have lost their way. Both victims and willing participants in the invasive, persistent dissemination of disinformation.

Effective governance requires an educated and involved electorate. People who may vigorously disagree about a course of action but agree on what the problem is. Voters who are making decisions based on a commonly accepted set of facts. We can't adequately address global warming if we don't all accept the scientific evidence it is man-made and that it's happening. Similarly, we can't make a decision on how to address the corruption surrounding the Trump/Zelensky phone call if we can't agree it was inappropriate........even when an edited transcript is available.

It is defensible to hold the position Trump's actions do not rise to the level of impeachable offenses. Claiming he did nothing wrong, that the call was perfect, that members of the diplomatic corps and the admin did not participate in a scheme to extract from Ukraine what amounts to a political favor for Trump with military aid hanging in the balance..............that isn't defensible........it's delusional.

“Effective governance requires an educated and involved electorate.”
I completely agree...do you wonder why the Party Of Free Shit Filth And Foreigners writes a script that only appeals to compartmentalized groups....such as; wetbacks, lowlife degenerates, criminals and drug users, weirdos, pole puffers, rug munchers, chicks with dicks, feminazis....you know, those who don’t vote on policy but what makes makes them feel warm and fuzzy?
It's okay, I don't blame you for trying to avoid the topic of the thread.........while your pants are down around your knees.

Hold on...so you want to construct a thread centered around some headlines you personally cherrypicked to make some bullshit point and then you want sane folks to dignify your irrational bullshit with a rational response?
Go fuck yourself!
Actually, I constructed a post highlighting a few of the bullshit things Trumpette's like yourself believe. A post that appears to have struck a nerve with you yet one you are unable to refute. Unless you consider spewing gratuitous insults a rebuttal.

The fact is, there are dozens more examples I could give. Like the false belief the tax cut would lead to corporate investment (it actually lead to stock buybacks) while business investment has been falling. Or that the tax cut would pay for itself (indeed reduce the annual deficits) while the deficit is at a 7 year high. How about Trump's irrational belief that the tariffs are being paid for by China, an example of his personal ignorance his staff has tried to get him to stop displaying..........but he persists.

Your anger at me for making you face the mountain of turds the entire construct of your belief system is founded on is misplaced. Time to look in the mirror.

Here's a right winger dinger belief.

Rule #1...They Lie About Everything.

"In their zeal to get more illegal aliens into our country to vote Democrat.....like the millions that Hussein told 'When you vote, you're a citizen yourself,'"

And now for the debunking.

Obama Encouraged ‘Illegal Aliens’ to Vote
In an interview aimed at a millennial audience, President Obama encouraged Latino citizens to vote. He did not urge undocumented immigrants to vote.

"No telling how many Mexicans were killed by obama/holder gun running."

Gee, debunking these myths could be a full time job.

Justice Department report clears Holder, but faults DOJ, ATF officials
Justice Department report clears Holder, but faults DOJ, ATF officials

The Justice Department’s inspector general (IG) on Wednesday cleared Attorney General Eric Holder in the controversial “Fast and Furious” operation but faulted several other federal officials for acting irresponsibly.

The 471-page IG report was issued after an 18-month investigation and recommends 14 agency officials receive administrative or disciplinary action for their role in the botched gun-tracking operation.

But it exonerates Holder, who has repeatedly butted heads with congressional Republicans over what he knew about the program and when he knew it.

It is a well known fact that most of the bureaucrats in Washington are liberal. When they are tasked with investigating other liberals in Washington, what results would you expect?

IOW, since you disagree with the findings of the investigation there must be something wrong with the investigators. That must work very well for you. It allows you to only believe the things you already believe and never challenge those beliefs. Congratulations............you are officially a Trumpette.

The "Repubs were prevented from calling witnesses" meme is a lie.
