""I think we're in a day and age in this country where it's time for both corporations and team sports to retire the use of Native American names, images and mascots from their products, team jerseys and sports in general," Hoskin said in his statement."

He'll have to give up his White name then, because it offends me that Indians use our names, language, clothes, houses, cars...

i give up...there is no hope for humanity!

Disappointed by Chief Hoskin's request.

I think that having a motor car named after one is quite an honor.

It also helps Americans to remember the Cherokee nation.

(Sorry to see that some Native Americans are copying certain other folks in constantly complaining about every little thing.)

Yes, it's an honor. Car makers choose names that help sell their product.

I grew up in a town called Cherokee. We thought that name was cool.

They took the whole Cherokee nation
Put us on a jeep manifestation
Took away our walking life
Gave us four wheel driving rights
Took away our native tongue
Made leather seats for our young
And all those options that they ran
Are porcupine quills woven by hand
Cherokee people, Cherokee tribe
So proud to live, so proud to drive
They took the whole Indian nation
Put us in a GM creation
Althought them seats are buffalo hides
It makes a better red man ride
Cherokee people, Cherokee tribe
So proud to live, so proud to drive
But maybe someday when they learn
Cherokee nation will return, will return, will return
Will return, will return

The best vehicle I ever owned was a 1995 Cherokee Sport. I kept it for 20 years as my daily driver. I put over 200K miles on it and never had any problems with it. Just regular maintenance and the normal things that you would have to replace in a high millage cars. I loved that Jeep. I could afford a new vehicle but kept it because I liked it.

The worst vehicle was the Grand Cherokee that I bought my wife as the family SUV. So many problems we finally got rid of it. Didn't even make it to 60K miles.
