The androgyny of Adam and Christ

I had never heard of the idea that either Adam or Jesus were androgynous until I read about it in a book that wasn't specifically about religion. The author spoke as if this is a well-known Christian concept. I looked it up and there is a lot of writing about it.

The idea being that Adam was androgynous until he gave a rib to create Eve. Instead of making woman from a cheaper cut of man, the original androgynous human was actually split into a male and female individual. Jesus, under this theory, was androgynous because he represented humanity, not just males. Some great Catholic writer advocated that the celibacy of priests not be just a bachelor's virginity, but an androgynous unity of the soul.

Any thoughts? I've always found the concept of androgyny fascinating, but lately it has become so politicized that I'm sick of hearing about it.
More secular humanistic propaganda, propagating a message that perversions of nature should not only be accepted but embraced by modern society.........with the flip side of this coin implying that Orthodox Christianity is antiquated and based upon ancient "male chauvinism". Who is a liar and the father thereof? (John 8:44)

Truth: "A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman's garment, for all who do are an abomination to the Lord your God." -- Deut. 22:5

"God created man in His own image (God is a spirit); In God's image He created him; male and female He created them." -- Gensis 1:27 Both man and woman were created at one time in the image of God (their spirit was made in the image of God......its God's spirit that is andrognous not the physical body which was taken from the soil)...........through out the scriptures we can read of the equality of men and women. There is nothing natural about anyone that attempts to defy nature and identify as a gender other than the gender that he/she was created.

The equality of men and women in relation to Christianity? "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free; there is neither male nor female (as its the Spirit of man/woman that was created as an eternally existing being....not the physical body which has natural physical limitations placed upon it...to include death.....while based upon natural gender identification). -- Gal. 3:28

Indeed there are anomalies of nature...........but they are ready identified as being such.....other than that which is NORMAL.

The female gender came from the Rib of Adam........thus, the spirit of God found to exist in Adam had to be transferred to the first female (Eve the Mother of All).

The first of creation.......ADAM........God "breathed His Spirit of Life into the nostrils of the flesh He had formed from the dust of the ground" (Genesis 2:7)

Note: When God removed the Rib from Adam in order to create another gender..........there is no mention of God having to transfer His Spirit into Eve........as she already had the Spirit of Adam animating her flesh, "And the Rib which the Lord God had taken from man, made He a woman, and brought her unto the man." -- Genesis 2:22

Is it strange or unnatural that Man and Women shall a great deal in relation to DNA? Hardly.........all life on earth share in the same DNA and Gene markers.

From what I've read, most of the talk about Jesus being androgynous comes form Carl Jung. If Freud was the father of psychology, then Jung was its pervy uncle. The first to pioneer the technique of sleeping with mentally ill young female "patients."

The experiments that produce scientific knowledge can be replicated.
Yes, such as the experiments that tell us the ages of rocks. And the experiments that tell us relations between species.. Therein lies your problem... you don't know what you are talking about.

Also, you are desperate and cornered, so now you just have to claim we can't piece together events from yesterday, either. Not yesterday, not 500 years ago, not 5 million

Your talking points are incoherent and rely on ignorance.

Adam is allegorical. Jesus existed.

The saeculum cycle says you are a linear thinker in a cyclical reality if you believe belief in God will fade away.

wrong, a&e's mission of self determination permeated throughout all antiquity - till recorded history became the draconian desert religions, crucifying their mission in the 1st century through forgeries and fallacies and misrepresentation of even historical figures no less than they have the very mission from the beginning.

Nothing wrong about it. The first 11 chapters of Genesis are allegorical accounts of the history all nations share.

you mean if you are a sinner, that's just not true for everyone and that was the purpose of the great flood to punish those that were. bing.

Yeah it is true for everyone, especially you.

And no, it wasn’t the purpose of the great flood.
