It just occurred to me- This coronavirus could be Trump’s savior.

The Fed has been juicing the economy for 10 years now, and every time they take their foot off the gas (raise rates or cease QE) the stock market craters. But now, the c-virus provides temporary cover for a market downturn and even a recession.

Kudlow is a hardcore partisan, but I'm sure even HE would admit that a couple of the key drivers of the economy right now -- aggressively increased government spending and half a TRILLION poured into short term lending markets by the NY Fed to grease the system -- would have been attacked as "socialist" by Trump supporters not FOUR YEARS AGO.

The Chinese are hurting. Not only from the virus, but their GDP isn't doing well, thanks to Trump's tarriffs. But we have stuff they desperately need, so it looks like they're backing down.
