The real Dark Ages were when we had Christian Theocracies all over the place.

The dark age started when the german tribes trashed the roman empire. Christian Italy and such places pushed us out of it.

Certainly certain things they were against like taking the earth out of the center of our solar system, etc, but to say Christians were anti-science is a mistake. UNLIKE modern conservatives that are more anti-science.
