The liberal era ended with the assassination of Robert Kennedy. Liberals boarded Bobby's funeral train and were never seen or heard from again. The 70's was the beginning of the conservative era that John Kenneth Galbraith was deeply concerned about when he and President Kennedy planned to head off any escalation in Vietnam. But JFK's assassination reversed the withdrawal JFK planned, and led to the deaths of 60,000 American soldiers, the splintering of the Democratic Party, and the conservative era that has destroyed this nation.
