Thanks For The Free Ride At Texas Tax Payers Expense Gov. Abbott

Republicans didn't control congress during the Reagan Administration.

They did control the senate off and on but never with a large enough majority to prevent filibusters.

A rather stupid argument considering Democrats barely control Congress or the Senate now. Then there is the fact of Reagan's budgets he himself turned in to Congress and the bills he signed as well.

Republicans currently hold 209 seats in the House.
Why do you feel they need to gain 17 seats to have a majority?

So ... how many seats do you think there are in Congress? Like. zillions, dude? They will need at least a few more than half to win any power over Democrats, as there are always outliers, via indies and rogue Republicans, as we've seen. 17 more probably aren't enough.

Giminy Christmas.

There are 535 seats in total in the US congress, 100 are in the Senate.

535-100=435.

435-209=? What does that equal?
