You got lucky. There are SO many credit thieves out there.
And shady porn sites. I got my money back, and they won't be seeing any more dollars from me. Cut off!

Let's pull a Pelosi stunt and pass a law by emotional pressure and publicity from the crisis. Or ask for an Executive Order that anyone caught committing credit fraud during the pandemic has to be deported to China to work like a slave for restitution owed for the human cost of this virus, by payinh back the costs of all the medical Bill's, business losses, and costs of fatalities in the cities where the defrauded victims are based. If you defraud only 1 person in NY, the losses of lives and revenue in NY will be calculated to get a proportional percentage of 1 person out of the total NY population. But if you defraud 50 people from 50 states, that's a greater base loss compiled from each state and the proportional loss to each taxpayer. Let's ask Pelosi and Trump to write up and sign this emergency measure.

Maybe you shouldn't be giving out your card info on Ashley Madison. Hasn't it been in the news enough on how many times they have been hacked?!!?

I'm glad that they caught it. This happened to me about five years ago. Somebody around Chicago tried to use my number to buy a couple of thousand in jewelry. I've never been to Chicago.

In the 1990's, I paid a medical bill by check, and somebody who worked at the billing agency tried to use my account to pay for cell phones for her friends. It bounced because I didn't have that much money in the account but I got the name of the company that was supposed to be the payee. She even stole the tax ID number from an ambulance company and claimed that she had an ambulance company. I just called loss prevention at the cell-phone company and called the manager at the ambulance company. They were not amused. The bitch even called me, trying to buy me off, and I wondered where she had gotten my home and work numbers. Turns out that she got this from the form that you fill out when you go to a doctor's office and they give you a form on a clipboard.

How did they get to it? Over the net or outside you view?

I dont even know which is odd
I once got an alert that my card was being used in Michigan and I'm from Ohio....so they usually track your locations and let you know when its out of sync.

April 10th? Bullshit. This should not take these guys so long. Even with coronavirus. This is done with a flick of somebody's finger. Ten days my ass. No matter what your politics, I'm rooting for you on this one.

I don't know what these people are doing this days. A few years ago, I waited on a BIG check, like a couple of hundred thousand dollars. They sent it by snail mail. Oh, come on! Snail mail! You would think that this would be something that they could electronically. Something is very wrong.

I've had my card spoofed before it sucks but at least now the banks are quicker to recognize unusual charges.

I actually stopped swiping my card at most places. My Samsung phone Pay app works on all card scanners and sends a virtual card number to the terminal. it's more secure that way

I decided to make a change in the way I manage my credit and finances. Starting tomorrow I will no looking use my debit card for purchases. The debit card account will now only be used for rent and bills and transferring money to my savings. All purchases will now be on my credit card since I have cash back rewards and will pay off the card at the end of the month with the money in my checking.
