Texas warned again of unplanned heat outages

Big improvement over California, where they just shut off the power every time it gets too hot or windy.

Nice try, BlueAnon. Back to Russian-hunting under your bed now, ok?
CA has over 100 times the forest acreage as Texas, so with climate change naturally they will have more forest fires - Ya insufferable dope :rolleyes-41:

Ah, yes. Lots of trees = ok to shut off power to old people when it's 110 degrees. That's BlueAnon logic for ya! Now, back to Russian-hunting under your bed, Bluey.

That’s what they get for relying on wind power too much.
20% of their power is wind and that can’t be spun up or made up for during a high pressure heat wave with little to no wind.

Now they are like California.
Wrong again, Republiklan fascist. Texas screwed up with its independent grid, and of course the white right can't manage anything properly, and so... now the rest of the country gets to LAUGH at Texas those unhappy idiots, screw-ups, white-right bumblers and stumblers... HA HA HA HA HA HAAAAAAAAAAAAa!!!!

Now eat all that rotten food in your refrigerator and shut up, all you big bad Texans!
Texas has the most wind power in the country. Is that being fascist? Your rant makes no sense whatsoever. Weather screwed up the Texas grid because equipment cannot handle having several inches of ice built on it. Even northern states wouldn’t be able to handle that because ice buildup is a thousand times worse than snow.

“White right”? What are you babbling about? You don’t think Texas has Hispanics and blacks running the power grid?

California does this all the time, why is this any different than California? In fact there are other states facing the same issue.

It always surprises me when people believe this is uncommon.

It never happens in Canada. Never.
Pretty obvious why it doesn’t happen in Canada, you have a very small population and more area. People and places are sparse and no one area that extracts huge loads of power in a compact area. There is not the demand for power in Canada that you have in densely populated areas. Alaska, North and South Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Kansas and many other low density states don’t have this problem either. The top three states with this issue are, California, Texas, and New York, the three of the four most populated states.
This ^ is nonsense. You are comparing crime statistics in states With a population of 1/2 to 3/4 million people to states like Callie with 40 million?
Where are we gonna see more crime? Derp!
Go look at per capita (per 100,000 residents) crime stats and you ain’t gonna see much difference.
I am not talking crime, I’m talking about why Canada doesn’t have the energy issues that Texas and California have. Texas nor California have the ability to keep up with the demand because they are more densely populated and don’t have resources to counteract the demand. States such as Alaska, South and North Dakota have no energy issues, like Canada because the have smaller populations and energy resources to take care of their smaller populations.

The thread is about energy and blackouts, not crime. Derp!
That was my bad - didn’t read carefully enough. Just that I’ve seen that dumb comparison on crime a few too many times.

However, Canada has some very big cities and has no problem keeping the lights on.

They are also have the foresight to install heated windmills. ;)
It’s all good, 60% of Canada's power comes from is hydroelectric, with nuclear 15%, Gas/Oil 10%, Coal at 9% and renewable only at 7%. Canada has a lot lower demand for energy than California and has vast amounts of space to and hydroelectric to cover their demand.
Washington, Oregon, Idaho sends most of their power to California and California still cannot keep up with their demand. The areas are to densely populated they are still having energy issues. Alternative energy maybe answer but not for many years to come. Hydroelectric is intrusive but its by far the best alternative we have.
I like salmon and am therefore not a big fan of dams. We’re breaching many of ‘em here in the NW.

100 times?

You suck at math.

Texas: 171.000
Callie: 33,000,000

Got a calculator? I was way off. Callie has 193 times the forest acreage.
