Texas Grid Asks Residents To Conserve Power As Heatwave Hits

It's not even summer yet and the electric system in Texas is failing. Again.

If there are blackouts people can die from the heat. Especially in August.

This doesn't look good for the rest of the summer if Texas already doesn't have enough energy for their people.

But I heard that Texas and its power grid is awesome and good to go...............????
It was, but 4 million new residents has taken its toll.

Being so fucking awesome that we attract a population increase THE SIZE OF FUCKING OREGON is met with growing pains. We will overcome.

'Unplanned' outages hit Texas power plants in soaring temperatures

View attachment 501650Officials with Texas' power grid operator pleaded with residents Monday to limit their electrical usage amid soaring temperatures and a series of mechanical problems at power plants.
The appeal, from the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, or ERCOT, comes four months after deadly blackouts during a winter storm left millions of people without power
Officials with the nonprofit group, which oversees 90 percent of Texas' energy production, asked residents to set their thermostats higher, turn off lights and avoid using larger appliances until Friday.
A senior official with ERCOT, Warren Lasher, said it wasn't clear why there were so many unplanned outages. But he said that the group is "deeply concerned" about the plants that are offline and that a thorough investigation is being conducted to better understand the problems.
More than 40 people died during the February storm, many of them from exposure to cold or carbon monoxide poisoning while they were trying to keep warm.
We''ll see just how long the governor and legislature can distract an angry public

Shocking.. You'd think Texans were sharper than that.
Really? They're too busy making it hard to vote and get legal abortions.

Above 90 degrees is an every day thing here in Texas.

Once again, you guys are being misled by the Fake News MSM.

...but only for black people because we just love pissing you off....for no reason....because HAHAHAAAA and shit.

:dunno:

Oh, yeah, and fuck multi-tasking. Enacting laws to ban black people from voting or aborting requires our undivided attention, even months after the fact.

Making life miserable for black people is a full-time job.

Already hit 100 in Dallas and we are doing just fine.

Certainly. We all have nothing better to do than find ways to make life hell for those suffering from hyper-melanin production.

This is common here from June through September the vast majority already do this during this time of year.

It's common for you to not have power in the hottest months of the year?

Wow. And you just accept that as normal.

Wow.

Guess what? It's not normal. The rest of the nation doesn't lose power in the middle of the hottest months or coldest months of the year.

The only time we ever lose power is if a storm brought the power lines down.

It's not normal for a state to not have enough power.

Yet you think it is. Wow.
Yes, power outages are somewhat normal during times of peak use. Just ask California, they have outages and brown outs all the time.

The thing about heat waves is that there is usually no wind, and Texas is relying heavily on it.

California used to have power outages because of not enough power. The deregulation caused it. Investigations after the outages found that the power companies artificially caused it so the price of energy would skyrocket.

They closed down power plants for no reason beyond greed.

Now, the outages are caused not by not having enough power but by preventing wildfires.

It's been proven that wildfires have been caused by PG&E so now they shutdown some lines in some places so people don't die in fires or everything they own isn't destroyed in a fire.

Texas doesn't have enough power. Their privately owned system is outdated and prone to shutdowns due to improper maintenance and weather preparation.

Where I live, we have never lost power due to not enough power. The only thing that causes loss of power is a storm brought down lines or did damage to equipment. It's the same in all the other states.

It all is happening where energy has been deregulated. My state didn't deregulate electricity so we don't have those problems. The people own it, we regulate it, we properly maintain it. The rates can't be jacked up by a greedy company. Rates have to be approved before there's an increase. Those who run the Public Utility Districts are elected officials. They are required to have public meetings on a regular basis. Open to the public, anyone can speak and ask questions.

So you think it's normal for you to not have power during the hottest and coldest months of the year.

It's not normal.

You can lie about it all you want but you're only fooling yourself.

we need to reopen coal power plants that are offline and build new nuclear power plants
Sure....in Texas. Build all they want......in Texas. And frack some more.
Gladly.

While we're at it, tell the fucking EPA to get off our dicks and let us build those AND nuclear.
Poor victims of the EPA....poor poor victims.
Poor victims of voter laws. poooor poooor victims.

You know, I think all of this reveals a general sense of self-importance in the black community. You think everyone is out to keep a brotha down. You're not that important.

:laughing0301:

We have way more power than we can handle. It's just that the Federal Supremacists won't let us produce it. Deny it.

We are tying one arm on our backs with all of the Environmental overreach. We get many of our products from nations who do do not follow any Environmental guidelines at all. And we are funding our own demise with China. That is not a joke. It is real and we keep playing crazy domestic social woke games.

LOL California only has outages due to wildfire? Yea because they don’t know how to trim trees near power lines.

There is no deregulation in Texas, they follow NERC regulations like the rest of the US. I know you have no idea what that is, so you might want to look it up.

The Texas power grid is managed just like every other grid, by a group of bureaucrats made up of state and local municipalities, and utility companies.
