Teenagers have no respect

I let the wife go out with some friends, so I decided to take the kids to McDonalds. I don't like to take them there a lot, but the indoor enclosed play area makes it easy to watch three little ones.

In the area these four teenagers come in and are eating. No problem, but they start dropping F-Bombs and N-Bombs (keep in mind these kids are white) left and right. With the place packed with children. A mother asks them to have a little respect and watch their language. One of the little punk tells her to "fuck off." The stunned woman gets manager and he kicks them out. On the way out he calls the women a "fat bitch!"

Unbelievable, I hope I wasn't that disrespectful when I was a teen!

Unfortunately ya can't beat the crap out of em anymore.

No, But you can defend your self. Me and my my Son were goaded by two leaving the movies once. One slapped my head and that was all. Poor little punk never expected to get a perfect hay maker on the temple. Called the cops, they took my statement and off to jail he went. Coffee makes great teenager repellant to.

When a teenager says something stupid to me my usual response is to shake my head and say: "Wow! Where did your mother and I go wrong?".

Seems to work every time.

Mostly I just ignore them and consider what a jerk I was as a teen. If they are mine I dont have to say much. I was blessed with good kids.

Teens are built to be barrier pushers.

Its part of the cycle.

They have to fight the world to try and find their place in it.

BTW those two things in red in your post say a couple of thi ngs about your lack of respect for others

Anyone who expects "respect" from a teen in todays society is being silly.

We dont give them much to respect these days.

That is utter BULLSHIT! What teens don't get these days isn't respect, it's upbringing. Kids don't know how to act because they haven't been TAUGHT how to act.

I was in a Dollar Store in Farmington KY last week. Checking out in front of me was a young lad, I'd say about 14 or so. The clerk asked him a question about his purchase. He replied, "I think so, ma'am." Then when she finished she said "Have a nice day." He replied, "Yes, ma'am. You too ma'am." I said to the clerk, "what a well mannered young man!" And we have some VERY well mannered teenagers around here.

If I had taken that bunch of little heathens out they would have been back home in 5 minutes flat after the first infraction! I think the fact that the person who started this thread allowed it to go on and put up with it in public until someone else intervened speaks far louder than anything he has to say.

That is so true. Children learn what they live....

I can't get past the first 6 words of the OP.:eusa_eh:

Likewise. I'm glad it wasn't just me. One of the reasons why I'm so hesitant about this whole 'marriage' malarky. It's a partnership, not a bill of sale.
My wife and I talk like this all the time. She let's me do what I want, I let her do what she wants. It has nothng to do with "ownership" and more to do with "respect for each other".

Don't let "Uber-Feminism" destroy your happy relationships.

I'm disappointed that you didn't take some sort of action to set the punks on the road to civility. Said stunned woman wouldn't have needed the manager if I was there, the punk would have.

You should've lowered yourself to their level and punched one of the little ***** in the face. That would've taught 'em. Though they no-doubt relished your hesitant, passive (but ultimately cowardly) inaction.

It's not that big of a deal. Nothing really CHANGES when you get married from the way things already were before, except that you won't be having sex with him anywhere close to the frequency you did before. :D

dont mistake what a protective man says......my husband at times does this...matter of fact ...he was good with me going to greenville sc and going to the guns & roses concert....as long as i dont really get tickets and all..my husband is very protective....it is his job.....and part of that is really being concerned....but we are old fashioned....i dont like to go out without a male escort...simple as that...shopping is one thing but going to a bar etc....he feels you need a male escort...he doesnt mind if its one of my friends......i always discuss plans with him and go over what i am doing ....if i go out with friends...he likes to know what we are gonna do and where we are gonna go....now a simple phone call can change all plans....and its still a small town....so he doesnt worry much...

i have been a lot of places with this man.....a lot of times things got sketchy but i will give him the respect....i have never been afraid with him....i know he will take care of me...i know he will take a bullet for me....and always put my safety in front of his....he has proven that in the past...

if he wants to be protective and all....if he wants to say he 'lets' me....i am good with that...cause other than your mom (well not mine now) and your father....who else is willing to die for you?
