i see, a good post. once you have time, It would be great to know your opinion on "big push" logistic (old ussr style ?) , is it possible under watch of our satellites , drones and rain of our HIMARS rockets

Oh I'm sure that EVERYONE is going to be watching the buildup and mobilization of troops and equipment. We and everyone watching Russia and Russia watching Ukraine and the EU.

Timing is going to be crucial. Cloudy days are what hide troops from satellites...but clouds don't hide planes. However surveillance drones are too small to be seen....and they are going to be flying high and often.

Russia needs perfect weather conditions to move once inside of Ukraine. (Early spring/late winter) they need slightly muddy but mostly frozen fields. So does Ukraine....to answer the moving Russians.
And that's what they are waiting for. Because if one side settles in first before the other can...the other side has to wait for summer for the muddy ground to dry out so they can move more effectively.

Now Russia has almost finished this round of training draftees. (Conscripts...and there will be more) So now these trainees get to move equipment. But let's get real...these are people who really don't want to be there. They aren't volunteers.

Russia would be destroyed in retaliation. Even if the US fails to act, the UK and France won't.

Well
It did create a problem for Russia....they can no longer use that train station. And it created another "river crossing " scenario for Russia if it does want to use that railroad.
Unloading from a train is a "target rich" environment where you can hit anything of value if you send a missile or artillery shell into the area.

Crossing rivers are a nightmare because of the buildup of equipment and manpower on both sides of a river...an obvious target. (Military equipment is heavy as well as expensive and moves one at a time across bridges)

Sighting in and being able to hit areas like these with long range artillery munitions or missiles (or the hybrid missile/artillery rounds) is not going to make Russian advancement pleasant.
It's about firing and moving....because the moment you fire you will give away your position. And places like river crossings and train depots (or makeshift of either one) are definitely going to be targeted.

Ukraine has the upper hand as they are on the border with NATO countries....Russia does not have such a luxury. Ukraine can hit Russia and Crimea with impunity and be inside their right (so long as it's a military infrastructure target)

Basically, it is not crucial what a Russian plant 'thinks'. What is crucial is that a loon became a 'face' of one of two main political parties and can influence the US policy.
