20 people applying for the same jobs will not raise the salary of that job. Adding 20 million people to the workforce is not going to raise wages but lower wages because more people will be competing for jobs and spread jobs thin and wages will not go up but down.
Those hard working people have broken the law and the punishment should not be a reward by giving them amnesty. A measly fine of $5,000 will never be paid unless they want to become citizens and many of then do not. Many of those who were given amnesty in 1986 have not learned English or applied for citizenship which has a fee.

I remember when a man with a painting business was out bided by illegal aliens and put him our of work and he lost his business, rental property, his home and his wife and finally took her life. That was my brother. I remember when teenagers worked in fast food restaurants as after school or part-time jobs and now illegal aliens work two of these jobs and took them away from the teenagers. My paper boy is a illegal from Guatemala and I remember when she was a black woman. These are the jobs that Ms. Jacoby say Americans will not do. These are the jobs illegal took away from Americans. They are in all the metropolitan cities and places were there is no farms.

An example of who the state cuts the monthly checks to is an unemployed 43-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico who gets $650 a month for each of her four children and about $500 in federal food stamps and other vouchers.
