Taliban to allow 200 Americans, other civilians to leave Afghanistan -U.S. official

Sept 9 (Reuters) - Taliban authorities have agreed to let 200 American civilians and third country nationals who remained in Afghanistan after the end of the U.S. evacuation operation to depart on charter flights from Kabul airport, a U.S. official said.

The Taliban were pressed to allow the departures by U.S. Special Representative Zalmay Khalilzad, said the official, who spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity.

The departures were expected on Thursday. The official could not say whether these Americans and third country nationals were among people stranded for days in Mazar-i-Sharif because their private charters have not been allowed to depart.

and the republicans said Americans left there, no there are any Americans left there unless they want to be left there.
any word on how much joe paid for them??

What's this make it - Around 150,000 airlifted out of Afghanistan?
That's unprecedented. Nice work Uncle Joe!
And like we said...Biden would get the remaining Americans out.

Not only has this flight left but other Americans have gotten out through overland routes

The deal was ALWAYS negotiable. We were held to nothing. It was Biden's new administration
he had all the power for months. Biden was afraid to change anything because HE wanted out by a certain time, no matter what the Taliban did.

And yes Biden left them behind. For you to say otherwise is like you saying the sun didnt come up today. take a look outside.
Actually we stayed longer than Trump negotiated.

Right, but not to any strategic advantage. It was wasted time. The way in which Biden did it, it would have been better if we took off earlier in the year when the mountain passes were still opening up from winter.
In those extra months Biden knew things were not going well with the Taliban, there were things we could have been doing to streamline the visa process.

Tramp made the deal with the Taliban and Biden had to live with it.

Also the Biden admin didn't leave them behind.

Why did Biden have to live with it? TRUMP had no issue with not living up to the Iran Biden/obama deal. Is Joe so weak that he couldn't break a deal made by TRUMP, or renegotiate?

We were held to gettig the fock out, and a supermaj still think that was good. Biden extended the time to get out. But he failed to foresee how quickly the Taliban would fold.

All of our citizens will get out if they choose.

But the real issue is that the gop will criticize him for not getting enough afghans out, and criticize him for bringing in potential terrorists ....

the problem is. We were never supposed to just bring in 100,000 random Afghans and then try to vet them later. We were supposed to have a system to bring in Afghans who helped our troops either as interpreters or fought along side them. Instead we got a mass of people boarding airplanes and Biden wants to take some sort of credit for the sloppy procedure.
A lot of the ones who helped us got left behind while someone else got their seat. Thats nothing to be proud of. All that could have been arranged before we left
