Tokyo [Japan], August 20 (ANI): Japanese and Taiwanese officials are set to hold first-ever security talks to address the military and "gray-zone" coercion tactics that China imposes on both nations, a media report said on Thursday.

Japan's Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) is planning to hold talks with its Taiwanese counterpart, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), in the first-ever ruling party version of its "two-plus-two" security dialogue normally held between governments, Taiwan News reported.

The talks are aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and addressing the security issues of both nations.
The talks will be held online as soon as this month. The discussion will reportedly cover "ways to promote exchanges between Japan and Taiwan, in addition to security issues," Taiwan News added.
In an attempt to examine bilateral relations between Tokyo and Taipei, Japan's Liberal Democratic Party established a project team under its Foreign Affairs Division.

Japan and Taiwan both have maritime border disputes with China and have been victims of Beijing's aggressive expansionist approach. (ANI)

If Taiwan falls, there will be a nice straight path to Hawaii, California and trillions of dollars in resources in the South China Sea that China will happily take off of the worlds hands.

The American people no longer have the stomach for endless wars nor do we have the means to finance them. It's time for the rest of the world to step up. This is what the useless UN should be doing. I agree, the rest of the world should be assisting Taiwan, including Canada.

Canadas former PM Paul Martin sent our JT2, our top special forces team to Iraq when it was politically unpopular in Canada (he did it secretively as it was so unpopular in Canada), but morally, it was right to stand beside America. We also sent trainers and such to Afghanistan.

No other nation will come to Taiwans aid without America, it's almost certain. America has to be the defender of liberty in the world. From JFK on, you have stated this is your position to defend freedom around the globe.

If Taiwan falls, it's only a matter of time before the rapid expansion ensues.
