Alexis Tsipras, leader of the left-wing Syriza coalition, has become prime minister of Greece. He is the first European leader elected on an explicit promise to challenge the austerity policies that have prevailed since 2010. And there will be many people warning him to abandon that promise, to behave “responsibly”.

So how has that responsibility thing worked out so far?

Krugman really is stuck on liberal auto pilot. His plan is always, there is never enough welfare!!

Didnt the banks that knowingly lent them money they would not be able to pay have an obligation to their shareholders to act responsibly by declining to do so?

Why was it OK for Detroit to go bankrupt but not Greece?

Why did the GOP push for bankruptcy? Same reason they wanted GM and Chrysler to go bankrupt. To fuck the workers renig on pensions and break the unions. Fuck the creditors. Those small businesses don't really mean shit to them. And they'll blame democrats just like you're doing.

So why shouldn't Greece to go bankrupt? Because those are mega international mega corporations and countries Greece owes. Here we go again with the too big to fail argument. You guys are so predictable.
