Poll: Romney, now even with women, leads Obama in the swing states

Mitt Romney leads President Obama by four percentage points among likely voters in the nation's top battlegrounds, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds, and he has growing enthusiasm among women to thank.

As the presidential campaign heads into its final weeks, the survey of voters in 12 crucial swing states finds female voters much more engaged in the election and increasingly concerned about the deficit and debt issues that favor Romney. The Republican nominee now ties the president among women who are likely voters, 48%-48%, while he leads by 12 points among men.

Wow !

Didn't the GOP declare war on women ?

To democrats the most important issues to women are abortion and contraception. That's only true to democrats. To everyone else, the most important issue is the economy.

Plus Minus 4% puts the MR "lead" into the margin of error, and the poll is overturned by the RCP in the swing states.

If the election were held tomorrow, Obama would win.

Mitt has to come out swinging hard this week in the debate on economic matters.

You have forgotten about the Bradley Effect, Jake.

Romney is cruising right now.

First item of business in January? We are coming after your foodstamps!

LOL

SniperFire, you literally have no idea of what you are talking about. You are right at the level of a bigrebnc or those of that barely literate ilks.

The Bradley Effect is of no effect as we learned last time.

When Romney wins, he is going to turn away Forever from far right and reach to conservative and moderate Dems to govern with the responsible GOP that Boehner holds.

You are probably correct. However, he had better make sure he opens the doors for the economy.

There really isn't much he needs to do except assure business they need not worry.

I think he should also kick the big banks in the balls so smaller banks can a little more of the pie.

And if GM goes under....it had better go under.

Could not disagree more Jake. Election history tells us on Election day the last min Undecideds break Heavily for the Challenger.

Obama needs a lead going in to Election day, not a Dead heat. Don't forget most of the polls are still using 2008 Turn out numbers for the basis of their Samples. Leading to an average of plus 6 or so for Democrats in Poll Samples. While most Experts think it will be more like plus 3 for Democrats this time around in actual turn out.

Particularly when the incumbent isn't cracking 50%.

Historically speaking, Obiedoodle is in deep kimchee.

If Obama brings up Romney saying we should let the Car Companies Go bankrupt. Romney should simply say that Obama is confusing Chapter 13 Reorganization Bankruptcy (which is what would have happened) with Chapter 7.

The Same effect as the Bail out could have been achieved through normal Bankruptcy Organization but the Dems did not want that to happen. Because it means the Car Companies get to Renegotiate their Contracts with suppliers, and UNIONS!

The Bail out was about protecting unions, not saving Car Companies.

I'm 41 years old maybe older people can answer this question. Outside of every four years when there is a Presidential election when does abortion come up. I in know way am trying say that issue isn't important. My true feeling is that who ever wins the election has to much on there plate for it to come up

This weeks debate is on foreign policy.

Women are turning to Romney because of what they have been seeing in the debates so far. Being married to a very opinionated woman, I've come to learn that women tend to not like men being total jerks like Obama and Biden have been in the debates. Meanwhile Romney and Ryan have come off much nicer.

She's not big in politics. Hates when I bring it up. But Ive been seeing her get fired up about this election. Alot of it has simply been in response to the arrogance of our Current President. That doesnt really go well with women in general.

It looks this morning as if MR has surmounted his lack of likability by the voters.

He is on track to win this thing.

If the election were held tomorrow Obama wouldn't have enough time to bus his newly registered voters into all of the battleground states. He would lose in a landslide.
