Thank you so much, this means a lot. Some here are saying I must be a schoolmarm, since I retired a few months ago from a 32 year teaching career. But a lot of teaching is appreciating different people, reading the room, keeping the main thing in mind, and only disrupting with 'management' when it's really needed. I hope it will carry over....

Since Sue is apparently reformed I’d like to apply for mod duty because every healthy right-wing message board needs at least one left-center hall monitor to ensure the conspiracy theories stay alphabetized.

My qualifications:

I believe in free speech, especially the kind that comes with fact-checking, eye rolls, and the occasional “citation needed, patriot.”

I have extensive experience reading posts that begin with “Do your own research” and end with a screenshot from a Facebook account named EagleTruth1776.

I promise to enforce the rules fairly, unless the rule is “no reality,” in which case I may need clarification.

As a left-center applicant, I bring ideological diversity, emotional resilience, and the ability to survive comment sections where people think Marxism is when the DMV has a line.

My moderation philosophy is simple:
Let people argue. Remove spam. Ban bots. And only intervene when someone starts a sentence with “I’m not saying this was caused by George Soros, but…”
