Roe v Wade was the 1973 Supreme Ct ruling that established a Federal right to abortion, limiting the ability of the states to ban or restrict it.

If the SC does overturn Roe, it will mean that each state legislature gets to decide if that state will allow abortion or restrict it. Some states will continue allowing abortion, some will restrict it and others will ban it completely.

The Constitution does not even mention abortion.

Here is the law
Amendment X
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

We have a ban on late term abortions right now. People never stop to think that the ban is out the window if RvW is overturned also.

Yes, one state can completely ban abortion while another could allow it through 8 months.

The science proves Roe Vs Wade is based on obsolete science: modern ultra-sound establishes the fact that at least at 6 weeks they are definitely humans and of course life really begins at conception, regardless of what the pagan sociopaths keep claiming. They hate losing all those human sacrifices as they symbolize pagan political power.

Here's the thing. Roe was always based on a bit of Legal Hibbity-jibbity that there is a 'right to privacy" hiding in the 14th Amendment. There isn't.

If there were, laws against illicit drugs and prostitution would be equally unworkable.

of course, Roe just recognized a bit of reality- if a woman doesn't want to be pregnant, she'll find a way to not be pregnant... Just like if she wants to get high or have sex for money. You really can't legislate morality or conduct.

SCOTUS figured that Roe would be no more controversial than Griswold v. Connecticut, which legalized contraception. They didn't count on the ability of the religious right to demagogue the issue.

Not yet. They decide in 2022

Viability. It was always 24 weeks they want to change it to 15 and not based on science.

Let’s see. Who will banning abortion hurt?

The case centers on the Jackson Women’s Health Organization because it’s the last abortion clinic in Mississippi. It’s been open since 1995 and provides care to around 3,000 patients a year. The majority of the clinic’s patients are Black women, poor women and teenagers.

I hope SCOTUS punts on the issue or at least keeps it within the confines of RvW by splitting hairs and ruling that a state does have the right to limit abortions, just not ban them although that would sort of fly in the face of the original ruling to where it's almost moot.

Blah, but it's lawyers we are talking about here, one of which decided that Obama Care was a tax so who the hell knows.

lol rubbish; it's viable from conception. Like I said, it's nothing but ritual murder that appeals to assorted pagans and sociopaths.

The right on abortion is not only a legal and moral issue. It is also a social issue. You can't just ban the abortions and think the problem is solved.

Banning it, without resolving 'parallel' issues arising with that, will lead to skyrocketing of illegal abortions with possible bad consequences for a woman.

Also, you should find a way what to deal with these undesirable babies being born and left in the hospital. There should be a vast social program dealing with raising and educating them.

Oh get over yourself. Murder. What bullshit. If you think it's murder, don't get one. You fucking Taliban mother fucker.

No ruling until June 2022.

Rubbish 'logic'. Laws against rape and murder never stopped rape and murder, but they sure put a crimp in the numbers committed.

But they aren't a kid until one fertilizes the other.
So if they are alive before fertilization, and alive after fertilization, and nothing new has been added to the mix, what is different? I'm not sure how many people would confuse a fertilized egg with a kid.

Who, if they're old enough to procreate, must of necessity be wise enough to figure out how to do it responsibly. Are you saying that Black women, poor women and teenagers have not yet figured out where babies come from? It sounds to me like you're accusing those women of just being too stupid to figure out, on their own, why unprotected sex is a bad idea. That's simply condescending and insulting.

In fact, that sounds ANTI-WOMAN. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..............
