Supreme Court asks Maryland officials to stop people picketing at justices’ houses

Never mentioned his name moron.

I have to wonder just how many pots do you have to smoke to be so brain dead that you become incapable of following the conversation? This thread is about protests in Maryland, and your fellow moron wants to blame Merrick Garland for the protests.

Yes indeed. The conservatives on the court wanted to strike down ANY restriction of protests around the homes of the doctors and staff.

Dissenting opinion

The dissent believes that the 36 foot speech-free zone did not meet the burden for the test the Supreme Court set, as it burdens more speech than necessary. The dissent charges that speech-restricting injunctions are deserving of strict scrutiny by the Supreme Court and that the Supreme Court did not award it this level of review in this case and therefore dissents from all portions of the judgment upholding the injunction.
That says nothing about protesting at private homes, douchebag.

He is partly responsible because these protests violate federal law.

The Republican Senate Intelligence Committee reaffirmed its support for the U.S. intelligence community’s conclusion that the Russian government interfered in the 2016 presidential election with the goal of putting Donald Trump in the Oval Office.
Senate Intel report confirms Russia aimed to help Trump in 2016

The Russian dictator, Vladimir Putin, wanted Donald Trump to become our President in 2016 and wanted the Republican Party to be in power. Trump appointed three judges to the Supreme Court to continue his legacy.

Putin is being rewarded handsomely. America is in turmoil. The very basis of our democracy, free elections, is under attack. Trump and the Republican Party are, of course, responsible, aided by a very conservative Supreme Court that has become so unpopular it has walled itself off from the American people.

Republicans remain silent.

We have never experienced the silence from a major party that we are experiencing now.

The Times writes, "Pressed by Supreme Court decisions diminishing rights that Americans hold dear and expanding those cherished by the right, the United States appears to be drifting apart into separate nations, with diametrically opposed social, environmental and health policies.

"Call these the Disunited States."

Thank you, Clarence Thomas, Samuel A. Alito, Jr., Neil M. Gorsuch, and Brett M. Kavanaugh. Vladimir Putin is extremely proud of you. Thanks to the President I wanted, you have accomplished in a few months what communist Russia could not accomplish in over a hundred years.

America has become a divided nation!

The responsibility lies with the Republican Party, which accounts for their total silence.

For reasons that confuse many, it is expected that the Republican Party will be rewarded for what they have done. As their leader, Trump, is being investigated for possible sedition, the Republican Party may win control of Congress in November.

How could this happen? The rural voters that dominate the Republican Party are clueless. As this thread shows, they avoid reality. They don't know, and they don't want to know.

CNN reports, "The marshal of the Supreme Court has asked Maryland and Virginia officials to direct law enforcement to enforce state and county laws prohibiting picketing outside the homes of Supreme Court justices, according to letters obtained by CNN.

"Col. Gail A Curley sent letters to Republican Gov. Larry Hogan, Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, Democrat Marc Elrich, the county executive of Montgomery County, and Democrat Jeffrey McKay, Fairfax County board of supervisors’ chairman.

"The letters, released by a court spokesperson on Saturday to reporters and sent as the court ended a blockbuster term which saw historic decisions on guns, abortion and climate, refer to protests that have taken place “for weeks on end."

I have a simple suggestion. Have the Marshall of the Supreme Court ask the court for a writ of mandamus.

A writ of mandamus or simply mandamus, which means "we command" in Latin, is the name of one of the prerogative writs in the common law, and is issued by a superior court to compel a lower court or a government officer to perform mandatory or purely ministerial duties correctly.

The All Writs Act gave the "Supreme Court and all courts established by Act of Congress" the authority to issue writs of mandamus "in aid of their respective jurisdictions and agreeable to the usages and principles of law."

Security for SCOTUS is assigned to the federal Marshals service.

No, moron, they gave a right back to the people it lawfully belongs to.

You stupid leftards have shit for brains
They didn't give it back to THE PEOPLE.....

THEY HANDED IT TO THE GOVERNMENT, in the State.

Giving it back to the people, would be the people making their own decisions on this.....the SC did no such thing....they gave it to State Governments.....

The same state government that women were protected from their OVER REACH in to citizens personal decisions, family decisions, and medical decisions with the Roe decision.....this supreme court chewed those protections from State government overreach up, and spit it out!

Nope. The hubby and I would have given a million bucks that we don't have, to be blessed like those girls that got pregnant.....we tried for twenty years plus, to have a child. They have no idea how blessed they are....

But, it's still no business of our government to invade their privacy, or make this very personal and private, lifelong, and medical decision for them imo.

Xiden will not enforce federal law, so the Court is forced to go directly to the states...sad times
